Húli gěi wǒ yú, hóuzi gěi wǒ píngguǒ. Nǐ gěi wǒ nǐ zìjǐ.
The fox gave me fish, the monkey gave me apples. You gave me yourself.

Zài yuèliang shang. Měi gè wǎnshang, rénmen dōu huì kànjiàn nǐ.
On the moon. Every night, people will see you.
- Xiao Bai 月亮？那么远！我的朋友呢？
Yuèliang? Nàme yuǎn! Wǒ de péngyou ne?
The moon? That's so far! What about my friends?
- The Immortal 神仙说的话是真的。他们也能看见你。
Shénxiān shuō de huà shì zhēn de. Tāmen yě néng kànjiàn nǐ.
An immortal's word is true. They will be able to see you too.
- Xiao Bai 真的吗？那我想先和他们说再见。
Zhēn de ma? Nà wǒ xiǎng xiān hé tāmen shuō zàijiàn.
Really? Then I want to say goodbye to them first.
- The Immortal 好。我们先去看看你的朋友。
Hǎo. Wǒmen xiān qù kànkan nǐ de péngyou.
Of course. Let us go and see your friends first.
- Ah Jin 小白！你要去月亮上了吗？
Xiǎo Bái! Nǐ yào qù yuèliang shang le ma?
Xiao Bai! Are you really going to the moon?
- Ah Hong 月亮上有鱼吗？有苹果吗？
Yuèliang shang yǒu yú ma? Yǒu píngguǒ ma?
Are there fish on the moon? Apples?
- Xiao Bai 阿红，你还是只想吃！
Ā Hóng, nǐ háishi zhǐ xiǎng chī!
Ah Hong, you're still only thinking about food!
- Ah Jin 你走了，谁和我们玩？
Nǐ zǒu le, shéi hé wǒmen wán?
When you're gone, who will play with us?
- Xiao Bai 你们看天上。我会在那儿看你们。
Nǐmen kàn tiān shang. Wǒ huì zài nàr kàn nǐmen.
Look up at the sky. I'll be there, watching over you.
- Ah Hong 每个晚上吗？
Měi gè wǎnshang ma?
Every night?
- Xiao Bai 每个晚上。月亮大的时候，我最高兴。
Měi gè wǎnshang. Yuèliang dà de shíhou, wǒ zuì gāoxìng.
Every night. When the moon is big, I'll be the happiest.
- Ah Jin 好！我要上最高的树，跟你说话！
Hǎo! Wǒ yào shàng zuì gāo de shù, gēn nǐ shuōhuà!
Good! I'll climb the tallest tree and talk to you!
- Ah Hong 小白，再见！我们想你！
Xiǎo Bái, zàijiàn! Wǒmen xiǎng nǐ!
Goodbye, Xiao Bai! We'll miss you!
- Narrator 兔子到了月亮上。月亮很大，很白，很安静。
Tùzi dào le yuèliang shang. Yuèliang hěn dà, hěn bái, hěn ānjìng.
The rabbit arrived on the moon. It was big and white and very quiet.
- Xiao Bai 好安静……只有一棵桂花树。
Hǎo ānjìng… zhǐyǒu yì kē guìhuā shù.
It's so quiet… there's only one osmanthus tree.
- The Immortal 你想家吗？
Nǐ xiǎng jiā ma?
Do you miss home?
- Xiao Bai 有一点儿。啊！我看见山了！还有河！
Yǒu yìdiǎnr. À! Wǒ kànjiàn shān le! Hái yǒu hé!
A little. Oh! I can see our mountain! And the river!
- Xiao Bai 阿红！阿金！你们在那儿吗？
Ā Hóng! Ā Jīn! Nǐmen zài nàr ma?
Ah Hong! Ah Jin! Are you down there?
- Narrator 很远很远的山上，有两个小朋友在看月亮。
Hěn yuǎn hěn yuǎn de shān shang, yǒu liǎng gè xiǎopéngyou zài kàn yuèliang.
Far, far away on the mountain, two little friends were looking at the moon.
- The Immortal 从今天起，你就是玉兔。你的心像玉一样白。
Cóng jīntiān qǐ, nǐ jiù shì Yùtù. Nǐ de xīn xiàng yù yíyàng bái.
From today, you are the Jade Rabbit. Your heart is as pure as jade.
- Xiao Bai 玉兔？我喜欢这个名字！
Yùtù? Wǒ xǐhuan zhège míngzi!
Jade Rabbit? I love that name!
- The Immortal 我要走了。玉兔，你别怕。
Wǒ yào zǒu le. Yùtù, nǐ bié pà.
I must go now. Jade Rabbit, don't be afraid.
- Xiao Bai 我不怕。我在这儿等。也许有一天，会有人来看我。
Wǒ bú pà. Wǒ zài zhèr děng. Yěxǔ yǒu yì tiān, huì yǒu rén lái kàn wǒ.
I'm not afraid. I'll wait right here. Maybe one day, someone will come to see me.
