Clara and the prince walk through a forest of sugar snow to a gate made of candy. A fairy welcomes them, but the night is short.

This is the snowy road. Let's go, I'll lead the way.
- Clara 好冷啊！可是我觉得这里很漂亮。

Shì de. Nǐ chī yí gè xuěhuā kànkan, zhèlǐ de xuě hěn tián.
Yes. Try eating a snowflake. The snow here is sweet.
- Clara 雪是甜的？我不信。
Xuě shì tián de? Wǒ bú xìn.
Snow is sweet? I don't believe it.
- Clara 啊！真的！这个雪是糖做的！
A! Zhēn de! Zhège xuě shì táng zuò de!
Ah! It's true! This snow is made of sugar!
- The Prince 对啊。在这个国家，什么都有糖。
Duì a. Zài zhège guójiā, shénme dōu yǒu táng.
Yes. In this land, everything has sugar in it.
- Clara 王子，我有一个问题。你为什么是小士兵？
Wángzǐ, wǒ yǒu yí gè wèntí. Nǐ wèishénme shì xiǎo shìbīng?
Prince, I have a question. Why were you a soldier?
- The Prince 因为鼠王很坏。他想要我的国家。
Yīnwèi shǔwáng hěn huài. Tā xiǎng yào wǒ de guójiā.
Because the Mouse King is wicked. He wanted my kingdom.
- The Prince 我打不过他，可是他很怕你的鞋！
Wǒ dǎ bú guò tā, kěshì tā hěn pà nǐ de xié!
I couldn't beat him, but he is very afraid of your shoe!
- Clara 我的鞋？我的鞋真有用！
Wǒ de xié? Wǒ de xié zhēn yǒuyòng!
My shoe? My shoe is really useful!
- The Prince 你看，那儿！那是我的国家！
Nǐ kàn, nàr! Nà shì wǒ de guójiā!
Look ahead! That is my kingdom!
- Clara 那个门是糖做的！我想吃一点儿。
Nàge mén shì táng zuò de! Wǒ xiǎng chī yìdiǎnr.
That gate is made of sugar! I want a little bite.
- The Prince 不行，克拉拉！那是门，不是饭！
Bù xíng, Kèlālā! Nà shì mén, bú shì fàn!
No, Clara! That's a gate, not dinner!
- Clara 就一点儿！我好饿！
Jiù yìdiǎnr! Wǒ hǎo è!
Just a little! I'm so hungry!
- The Sugar Plum Fairy 你们好！欢迎来到糖国！我是糖梅仙子。
Nǐmen hǎo! Huānyíng lái dào Tángguó! Wǒ shì Tángméi Xiānzǐ.
Hello! Welcome to the Land of Sweets! I am the Sugar Plum Fairy.
- Clara 仙子，你好！这里真大，真漂亮！
Xiānzǐ, nǐ hǎo! Zhèlǐ zhēn dà, zhēn piàoliang!
Hello, Fairy! It's so big and so beautiful here!
- The Sugar Plum Fairy 王子说了，是你帮他打老鼠。谢谢你！
Wángzǐ shuō le, shì nǐ bāng tā dǎ lǎoshǔ. Xièxie nǐ!
The prince told me you helped him fight the mice. Thank you!
- Clara 我没有做什么。我就用了一只鞋。
Wǒ méiyǒu zuò shénme. Wǒ jiù yòng le yì zhī xié.
I didn't do much. I only used one shoe.
- The Prince 一只鞋也很大啊！你是我们的朋友。
Yì zhī xié yě hěn dà a! Nǐ shì wǒmen de péngyou.
One shoe is a big deal! You are our friend.
- The Sugar Plum Fairy 来，我们一起吃晚饭。好吃的都好了。
Lái, wǒmen yìqǐ chī wǎnfàn. Hǎo chī de dōu hǎo le.
Come, let's have dinner together. All the good food is ready.
- Clara 太好了！我想吃很多，很多！
Tài hǎo le! Wǒ xiǎng chī hěnduō, hěnduō!
Wonderful! I want to eat lots and lots!
- The Sugar Plum Fairy 吃吧。可是天亮以前，你要回家啊。
Chī ba. Kěshì tiān liàng yǐqián, nǐ yào huíjiā a.
Eat up. But you must go home before the sun comes up.
