The Bag of Winds
风的袋子
A kind wind king gives Odysseus a bag of bad winds and one warning. Home is in sight, until a bored crew decides to peek. Then comes news that chills his blood.

Welcome, welcome! I am the king of the winds. Why is everyone's hair a mess? Ha ha ha!

Fēngshén dàrén, wǒmen xiǎng huí Yīsàkǎ, kěshì hǎishén zài shēng wǒmen de qì. Nǐ néng bāng wǒmen ma?
Great king of the winds, we want to go home to Ithaca, but the sea god is angry with us. Can you help us?
- The Sailor 他的头发和衣服都在飞。他不冷吗？
Tā de tóufà hé yīfú dōu zài fēi. Tā bù lěng ma?
His hair and his robe are both flying around. Isn't he cold?

Cold? I love wind! Stay a few days, and I'll treat you to dinner.
- Odysseus 谢谢你，风神大人。我们有很久很久没有睡在房子里了。
Xièxie nǐ, fēngshén dàrén. Wǒmen yǒu hěnjiǔ hěnjiǔ méiyǒu shuì zài fángzi lǐ le.
Thank you. It has been a very long time since we slept in a house.
- Aeolus, King of the Winds 我还要送你们一样东西。这个袋子里，有所有不好的风。我把它系紧，你们就只有好风了。
Wǒ hái yào sòng nǐmen yíyàng dōngxi. Zhè gè dàizi lǐ, yǒu suǒyǒu bùhǎo de fēng. Wǒ bǎ tā jìjǐn, nǐmen jiù zhǐyǒu hǎo fēng le.
I'll give you one more thing. This bag holds all the bad winds. I'll tie it shut, and you'll only have good winds.
- Odysseus 这个礼物太大了。风神大人，我真不知道怎么谢你。
Zhè gè lǐwù tài dà le. Fēngshén dàrén, wǒ zhēn bù zhīdào zěnme xiè nǐ.
This is too big a gift. Great king, I don't know how to thank you.
- Aeolus, King of the Winds 记住，千万别打开它！只要袋子不开，大风就不会来。
Jìzhù, qiānwànbié dǎkāi tā! Zhǐyào dàizi bù kāi, dàfēng jiù búhuì lái.
Remember, never open it! As long as the bag stays shut, the storms can't come.
- Odysseus 九天九夜了！你们看，那是伊萨卡！我看到家里的烟了！
Jiǔ tiān jiǔ yè le! Nǐmen kàn, nà shì Yīsàkǎ! Wǒ kàndào jiālǐ de yān le!
Nine days and nights! Look, that's Ithaca! I can see the smoke from home!
- The Sailor 真的是烟！奥德修斯，我们真的快到家了！我都想哭了！
Zhēnde shì yān! Àodéxiūsī, wǒmen zhēnde kuài dào jiā le! Wǒ dōu xiǎng kū le!
It really is smoke! Odysseus, we're almost home!
- Odysseus 我九天没有睡觉了。你帮我看着船，我睡一会儿。
Wǒ jiǔ tiān méiyǒu shuìjiào le. Nǐ bāng wǒ kànzhe chuán, wǒ shuì yíhuìr.
I haven't slept for nine days. Watch the ship for me while I sleep for a bit.
- The Sailor 放心吧，我的朋友。我会把船看得好好的！
Fàngxīn ba, wǒ de péngyǒu. Wǒ huì bǎ chuán kàn de hǎohǎo de!
Don't worry, I'll keep a good watch!
- The Crew 你们看，那个袋子。风神为什么只送奥德修斯礼物？
Nǐmen kàn, nà gè dàizi. Fēngshén wèishénme zhǐ sòng Àodéxiūsī lǐwù?
Look at that bag. Why did the wind king give a gift only to Odysseus?
- The Crew 里面一定是金子和银子！就打开看看，他不会知道的。
Lǐmiàn yídìng shì jīnzi hé yínzi! Jiù dǎkāi kànkan, tā búhuì zhīdào de.
It must be full of gold and silver! Let's open it and see.
- The Sailor 别动！奥德修斯说了，不能打开！
Biédòng! Àodéxiūsī shuō le, bùnéng dǎkāi!
Don't touch it! Odysseus said it must not be opened!
- The Crew 只看一眼！就一眼，然后马上系好，好不好？
Zhǐ kàn yìyǎn! Jiù yìyǎn, ránhòu mǎshàng jì hǎo, hǎo bù hǎo?
Just one look! Just one, all right?
- The Sailor 我……我不知道……
Wǒ… wǒ bù zhīdào…
I... I don't know...
- The Crew 啊！风！好多风！
A! Fēng! Hǎoduō fēng!
Ahh! Wind! So much wind!
- Odysseus 怎么了？！风为什么这么大？我们的家！家在往后走！
Zěnme le?! Fēng wèishénme zhème dà? Wǒmen de jiā! Jiā zài wǎnghòu zǒu!
What happened?! Our home! Home is moving away!
- The Sailor 对不起……我没有拦住他们。他们打开了袋子，风把我们吹回去了。
Duìbùqǐ… wǒ méiyǒu lánzhù tāmen. Tāmen dǎkāi le dàizi, fēng bǎ wǒmen chuī huíqù le.
I'm sorry... they opened the bag. The wind is blowing us back.
- Odysseus 我们已经看到家了……只差一点点。我睡了一觉，现在家又那么远了。
Wǒmen yǐjīng kàndào jiā le… zhǐ chà yìdiǎndiǎn. Wǒ shuì le yí jiào, xiànzài jiā yòu nàme yuǎn le.
We had seen home... we were so close. Now it's so far away again.
- Narrator 风吹了很多天。最后，一个绿色的小岛出现在他们面前。
Fēng chuī le hěn duō tiān. Zuìhòu, yí gè lǜsè de xiǎodǎo chūxiàn zài tāmen miànqián.
The wind blew for many days. At last, a small green island appeared before them.
- Odysseus 不要哭。哭也没有用，我们再想办法。先去岛上问问路。
Búyào kū. Kū yě méiyǒu yòng, wǒmen zài xiǎng bànfǎ. Xiān qù dǎoshàng wènwen lù.
Don't cry. We'll think of something. First let's go ask for directions on that island.
- The Sailor 你不去吗？
Nǐ bú qù ma?
Aren't you coming?
- Odysseus 我在这里看船。你带他们去，小心一点。
Wǒ zài zhèlǐ kàn chuán. Nǐ dài tāmen qù, xiǎoxīn yìdiǎn.
I'll stay and watch the ship. You lead them, and be careful.
- The Sailor 好。我们很快回来！
Hǎo. Wǒmen hěnkuài huílái!
All right. We'll be back soon!
- Odysseus 太阳快下山了，他们怎么去了这么久，还没有回来？
Tàiyáng kuài xiàshān le, tāmen zěnme qù le zhème jiǔ, hái méiyǒu huílái?
The sun is almost down. Why haven't they come back?
- The Sailor 奥德修斯！房子里……有一个很漂亮的女人！
Àodéxiūsī! Fángzi lǐ… yǒu yí gè hěnpiàoliàng de nǚrén!
Odysseus! In the house... there is a very beautiful woman!
- The Sailor 她请我们喝东西，然后……他们都变成了猪！
Tā qǐng wǒmen hē dōngxi, ránhòu… tāmen dōu biànchéng le zhū!
She gave us something to drink, and then... they all turned into pigs!
- Odysseus 猪？！拿我的剑，我们去救他们。
Zhū?! Ná wǒ de jiàn, wǒmen qù jiù tāmen.
Pigs?! Get my sword. We're going to save them.
