Thursday night, and the teahouse is full. Mama's green tea gets its big test, Lu Wei takes his sips, and there is one more invitation.

Wǒ zài xuéxiào gàosu le xiǎopéngyǒu. Tāmen dōu gàosu le bàba māma.
I told the kids at school. They all told their moms and dads.
- Lu Fang 我写好牌子了！“成都第一杯茶，今天开始卖！”
Wǒ xiě hǎo páizi le! “Chéngdū dì yī bēi chá, jīntiān kāishǐ mài!”
I finished the sign! "Chengdu's First Cup, on sale from today!"

- Lu Fang 妈妈说她不怕。她只怕没有人喝她的茶。
Māma shuō tā bú pà. Tā zhǐ pà méiyǒu rén hē tā de chá.
Mom says she isn't scared. She's only scared no one will drink her tea.
- Auntie Wang 来来来！大家先喝一杯！请喝！
Láiláilái! Dàjiā xiān hē yì bēi! Qǐng hē!
Come, come! Everyone, have a cup first! Please drink!
- Jiang Ning 好喝吗？
Hǎohē ma?
Is it good?
- Auntie Wang 他们说，真好喝！还要一杯！
Tāmen shuō, zhēn hǎohē! Hái yào yì bēi!
They say it's really good! They want another cup!
- Lu Fang 王阿姨，你在哭吗？
Wáng Āyí, nǐ zài kū ma?
Auntie Wang, are you crying?
- Auntie Wang 我太开心了！茶馆里，第一次有人排队！
Wǒ tài kāixīn le! Cháguǎn lǐ, dì yī cì yǒurén páiduì!
I'm too happy! It's the first time there's a line in my teahouse!
- Jiang Ning 一百五十包了！我们要去告诉陆妈妈！
Yì bǎi wǔ shí bāo le! Wǒmen yào qù gàosu Lù Māma!
A hundred fifty bags! We have to tell Mrs. Lu!
- Lu Fang 走！

- Mama Lu 大家都说“好喝”。二十年，我第一次听到这么多人说。
Dàjiā dōu shuō “hǎohē”. Èr shí nián, wǒ dì yī cì tīngdào zhème duō rén shuō.
Everyone says "delicious." In twenty years, it's the first time I've heard so many say it.
- Lu Wei 妈，我有一杯茶给你。红茶。你喝一口，就一口。
Mā, wǒ yǒu yì bēi chá gěi nǐ. Hóngchá. Nǐ hē yì kǒu, jiù yì kǒu.
Mom, I have a cup of tea for you. Red tea. Drink one sip, just one.
- Mama Lu 啊，是甜的。比我想的好喝。
A, shì tián de. Bǐ wǒ xiǎng de hǎohē.
Ah, it's sweet. Better than I thought.
- Lu Wei 那我也喝一口你的绿茶。
Nà wǒ yě hē yì kǒu nǐ de lǜchá.
Then I'll take one sip of your green tea too.
- Lu Wei ……有点儿苦。可是这是你的茶，我喝。
… Yǒudiǎnr kǔ. Kěshì zhè shì nǐ de chá, wǒ hē.
...A little bitter. But it's your tea, so I'll drink it.
- Mama Lu 你的脸！太好笑了！
Nǐ de liǎn! Tài hǎo xiào le!
Your face! That's so funny!
- Jiang Ning 你们两个，都喝了一口。
Nǐmen liǎng gè, dōu hē le yì kǒu.
You two each drank one sip.
- Mama Lu 一天就卖了一百五十包。房子的钱，够了！
Yì tiān jiù mài le yì bǎi wǔ shí bāo. Fángzi de qián, gòu le!
We sold a hundred fifty bags in one day. The rent is covered!
- Mama Lu 我的店不关了。一个月两次，星期四，我来这儿卖茶。
Wǒ de diàn bù guān le. Yí gè yuè liǎng cì, xīngqīsì, wǒ lái zhèr mài chá.
My shop isn't closing. Twice a month, on Thursdays, I'll come here and sell tea.
- Mama Lu 江宁，我还要教你做饭。
Jiāng Níng, wǒ hái yào jiāo nǐ zuòfàn.
Jiang Ning, I'm also going to teach you to cook.
- Jiang Ning 又教吗？
Yòu jiāo ma?
More teaching?
- Mama Lu 还有一件事。阿伟的爸爸问，你什么时候来成都？
Háiyǒu yí jiàn shì. Āwěi de bàba wèn, nǐ shénme shíhou lái Chéngdū?
One more thing. A-Wei's father asks when you're coming to Chengdu.
- Jiang Ning 他想见我？
Tā xiǎng jiàn wǒ?
He wants to meet me?
- Mama Lu 过年，来我们家。我们一家人，喝茶。
Guònián, lái wǒmen jiā. Wǒmen yì jiārén, hē chá.
At New Year, come to our home. The whole family will have tea.
- Lu Wei 过年在成都？江宁，第三杯茶，我们在成都喝，好吗？
Guònián zài Chéngdū? Jiāng Níng, dì sān bēi chá, wǒmen zài Chéngdū hē, hǎo ma?
New Year in Chengdu? Jiang Ning, the third cup of tea, shall we drink it in Chengdu?
