Xu Xian lies dead of fright, and Bai Suzhen blames herself. Xiaoqing knows of one thing that can bring him back, but it grows far away, past two guards.

- Narrator 小青跑到楼上。许仙在地上，一动不动。她看见床上有一条大白蛇。
Xiǎoqīng pǎo dào lóu shàng. Xǔ Xiān zài dìshang, yí dòng bú dòng. Tā kànjiàn chuáng shàng yǒu yì tiáo dà báishé.
Xiaoqing ran upstairs. Xu Xian lay on the floor, not moving. On the bed she saw a huge white snake.

The white snake stirred, and was Bai Suzhen again.
- Bai Suzhen 小青？我怎么在床上？官人呢？
Xiǎoqīng? Wǒ zěnme zài chuáng shàng? Guānrén ne?
Xiaoqing? Why am I in bed? Where is he?
- Xiaoqing 小姐，你喝了雄黄酒，变成了白蛇。他看见了你……就死了。
Xiǎojiě, nǐ hē le xiónghuángjiǔ, biànchéng le báishé. Tā kànjiàn le nǐ… jiù sǐ le.
Miss, you drank the realgar wine and turned into a white snake. He saw you... and he died.
- Bai Suzhen 官人！官人，你看看我，是我啊！
Guānrén! Guānrén, nǐ kànkan wǒ, shì wǒ a!
Dear! Dear, look at me, it's me!
- Bai Suzhen 他的身体这么冷……是我吓的……是我！
Tā de shēntǐ zhème lěng… shì wǒ xià de… shì wǒ!
His body is so cold... I frightened him to death... it was me!
- Bai Suzhen 我修行了一千多年，有法术，有剑……可是我救不了他！

Kěshì wǒ tīngshuō, yǒu yí gè dōngxi, néng ràng sǐrén huó guòlái!

Xiāncǎo! Nánjí Xiānwēng de xiāncǎo!
The magic herb! The magic herb of the Old Immortal of the South Pole!
- Xiaoqing 仙翁住在很高很高的山上，在云里，很远很远。
Xiānwēng zhù zài hěn gāo hěn gāo de shān shàng, zài yún lǐ, hěn yuǎn hěn yuǎn.
The Old Immortal lives on a very, very high mountain, up in the clouds, far, far away.
- Xiaoqing 鹿童和鹤童在那儿，谁也不能进去。小姐，太危险了！
Lùtóng hé Hètóng zài nàr, shéi yě bù néng jìnqù. Xiǎojiě, tài wēixiǎn le!
Deer Boy and Crane Boy are there, and nobody gets past them. Miss, it's too dangerous!
- Bai Suzhen 我知道很危险，可是我一定要去。
Wǒ zhīdào hěn wēixiǎn, kěshì wǒ yídìng yào qù.
I know it's dangerous, but I have to go.
- Xiaoqing 那小青去！小青不怕！
Nà Xiǎoqīng qù! Xiǎoqīng bú pà!
Then Xiaoqing will go! Xiaoqing isn't scared!
- Bai Suzhen 不，我自己去，你在家里照顾官人。
Bù, wǒ zìjǐ qù, nǐ zài jiā lǐ zhàogù guānrén.
No, I'll go myself. You stay home and look after him.
- Narrator 白素贞洗了脸，换了衣服，对着观音菩萨的画，拜了又拜。
Bái Sùzhēn xǐ le liǎn, huàn le yīfu, duìzhe Guānyīn Púsà de huà, bài le yòu bài.
Bai Suzhen washed her face, changed her clothes, and bowed again and again before a picture of Guanyin.
- Bai Suzhen 观音菩萨，我知道，偷东西不对。可是我只想救我的官人。
Guānyīn Púsà, wǒ zhīdào, tōu dōngxi bú duì. Kěshì wǒ zhǐ xiǎng jiù wǒ de guānrén.
Guanyin, I know that stealing is wrong. But all I want is to save him.
- Bai Suzhen 小青，有人问，你就说官人病了，不能见人。
Xiǎoqīng, yǒu rén wèn, nǐ jiù shuō guānrén bìng le, bù néng jiàn rén.
Xiaoqing, if anyone asks, say he's ill and can't see anyone.
- Xiaoqing 又是病了？上次是小青病了，这次是他病了……
Yòu shì bìng le? Shàng cì shì Xiǎoqīng bìng le, zhè cì shì tā bìng le…
Ill again? Last time it was Xiaoqing who was ill, and now it's him...

- Bai Suzhen 官人，等我。我一定带着仙草回来！
Guānrén, děng wǒ. Wǒ yídìng dàizhe xiāncǎo huílái!
