On the road south the friends climb a white wall into a tiny, breakable country, and then the Lion faces a monster all on his own.

Tāmen wǎng nán zǒu le hǎo jǐ tiān. Qiánbian, shì hěn gāo de bái qiáng.
They walked south for days. Then, ahead of them, stood a high white wall.
- Tin Woodman 我来砍木头，我们爬上去！
Wǒ lái kǎn mùtou, wǒmen pá shàngqu!
I'll chop some wood, and we'll climb over!
- Dorothy 天哪！好奇怪的国家！什么都好小！
Tiān na! Hǎo qíguài de guójiā! Shénme dōu hǎo xiǎo!
Oh my! What a strange country! Everything is so tiny!

This was the China Country. Even the tallest of the China People was not half as tall as Dorothy.
- Scarecrow 跳吧！跳到我身上，我是稻草，不疼！
Tiào ba! Tiào dào wǒ shēnshang, wǒ shì dàocǎo, bù téng!
Jump! Land on me. I'm straw, it won't hurt!
- Scarecrow 看，那边有一头牛！
Kàn, nàbiān yǒu yì tóu niú!
Look, there's a cow over there!
- Dorothy 不好！牛跳起来了……腿坏了！对不起！
Bù hǎo! Niú tiào qǐlai le… tuǐ huài le! Duìbuqǐ!
Oh no! The cow jumped... and broke her leg! I'm so sorry!
- China Princess 别过来！别碰我！我会坏的！
Bié guòlai! Bié pèng wǒ! Wǒ huì huài de!
Don't come near! Don't touch me! I'll break!
- Dorothy 瓷公主，你真好看！跟我回家吧，艾姆婶婶会喜欢你！
Cí Gōngzhǔ, nǐ zhēn hǎokàn! Gēn wǒ huí jiā ba, Àimǔ Shěnshen huì xǐhuan nǐ!
China Princess, you're so pretty! Come home with me. Aunt Em would love you!
- China Princess 去了你家，我就不能动，也不能说话了。只能站在那儿，给人看。
Qù le nǐ jiā, wǒ jiù bù néng dòng, yě bù néng shuōhuà le. Zhǐ néng zhàn zài nàr, gěi rén kàn.
If I went to your home, I couldn't move or talk anymore. I could only stand there for people to look at.
- Scarecrow 你们看！有一个瓷人在用头站着！
Nǐmen kàn! Yǒu yí gè Círén zài yòng tóu zhàn zhe!
Look, everyone! One of the China People is standing on his head!
- Cowardly Lion 对不起！我的尾巴碰到了小房子，它倒了！
Duìbuqǐ! Wǒ de wěiba pèngdào le xiǎo fángzi, tā dǎo le!
Sorry! My tail bumped a little house, and it fell over!
- Scarecrow 好老的森林！看，很多动物在开会！
Hǎo lǎo de sēnlín! Kàn, hěn duō dòngwù zài kāihuì!
What an old forest! Look, lots of animals are holding a meeting!
- Cowardly Lion 老虎说，这儿有一只大蜘蛛，天天吃动物！
Lǎohǔ shuō, zhèr yǒu yì zhī dà zhīzhū, tiāntiān chī dòngwù!
The tiger says a giant spider lives here, and eats the animals every day!
- Cowardly Lion 打了它，我就能做大王！我怕……可是我有勇气。我去！
Dǎ le tā, wǒ jiù néng zuò dàwáng! Wǒ pà… kěshì wǒ yǒu yǒngqì. Wǒ qù!
If I beat it, I get to be their king! I'm scared... but I have courage. I'll go!
- Dorothy 狮子，你一个人去？
Shīzi, nǐ yí gè rén qù?
Lion, you're going alone?
- Narrator 大蜘蛛在睡觉。狮子打了一下，大蜘蛛就不动了。
Dà zhīzhū zài shuìjiào. Shīzi dǎ le yíxià, dà zhīzhū jiù bú dòng le.
The giant spider was asleep. The Lion struck it once, and it never moved again.
- Cowardly Lion 它们都叫我大王！我……我是森林里的大王了！
Tāmen dōu jiào wǒ dàwáng! Wǒ… wǒ shì sēnlín lǐ de dàwáng le!
They're all calling me King! I... I'm the king of the forest!
- Scarecrow 以前，大家都这么说。现在，是真的了！
Yǐqián, dàjiā dōu zhème shuō. Xiànzài, shì zhēn de le!
Before, it was only what everyone said. Now it's true!
- Cowardly Lion 我先送多萝西，再回来做你们的大王！
Wǒ xiān sòng Duōluóxī, zài huílai zuò nǐmen de dàwáng!
First I'll see Dorothy on her way, then I'll come back and be your king!
- Scarecrow 到了！格琳达的城堡！门口的女孩子都穿着红衣服！
Dào le! Gélíndá de chéngbǎo! Ménkǒu de nǚháizi dōu chuān zhe hóng yīfu!
We're here! Glinda's castle! And the girls at the gate are all dressed in red!
- Dorothy 你们好！请告诉格琳达，多萝西来了！
Nǐmen hǎo! Qǐng gàosu Gélíndá, Duōluóxī lái le!
Hello! Please tell Glinda that Dorothy is here!
- Toto 汪汪……
Wāngwāng…
Woof...
- Dorothy 她……会知道回家的路吗，托托？
Tā… huì zhīdào huí jiā de lù ma, Tuōtuō?
