Eighteen armies arrived at Hulao Gate. Lu Bu sat on Red Hare, alone before the gate.
- Lu Bu 谁敢来？一个一个上！我还要回去吃饭呢！
Shéi gǎn lái? Yí gè yí gè shàng! Wǒ hái yào huíqù chīfàn ne!
Who dares? Come one at a time! I want to get back to dinner!
- Zhang Fei 我来！我是张飞！你就是那个爱叫爸爸的吕布吗？
Wǒ lái! Wǒ shì Zhāng Fēi! Nǐ jiùshì nàge ài jiào bàba de Lǚ Bù ma?

Wǒ shuō, nǐ jiào guo Dīng Yuán bàba, yòu jiào Dǒng Zhuō bàba. Nǐ dàodǐ yǒu jǐ gè bàba?
I mean, you called Ding Yuan Father, then Dong Zhuo Father. How many fathers do you have?
- Lu Bu 黑脸大胡子！我的戟不喜欢听废话！
Hēi liǎn dà húzi! Wǒ de jǐ bù xǐhuan tīng fèihuà!
Black-faced beard! My halberd doesn't like to hear nonsense!
- Zhang Fei 我的矛也不喜欢！来吧！
Wǒ de máo yě bù xǐhuan! Lái ba!
Neither does my spear! Come on!
- Lu Bu 五十下了……这个黑脸的力气怎么这么大？
Wǔshí xià le… zhège hēi liǎn de lìqi zěnme zhème dà?
Fifty strikes already... how is this black face so strong?
- Zhang Fei 一百下了！你的马好快，可是你的手慢了！
Yì bǎi xià le! Nǐ de mǎ hǎo kuài, kěshì nǐ de shǒu màn le!
A hundred already! Your horse is fast, but your hands are slow!
- Lu Bu 别人打三下就倒了，你怎么不倒？
Biéren dǎ sān xià jiù dǎo le, nǐ zěnme bù dǎo?
Other men fall after three strikes. Why don't you?
- Zhang Fei 因为我今天早上吃了三碗饭！
Yīnwèi wǒ jīntiān zǎoshang chī le sān wǎn fàn!
Because I ate three bowls of rice this morning!
- Zhang Fei 二哥！大哥！再不来，好玩的都没有了！
Èr gē! Dàgē! Zài bù lái, hǎowán de dōu méiyǒu le!
Second Brother! Big Brother! If you don't come soon, all the fun will be gone!
- Guan Yu 三弟，我来了。
Sān dì, wǒ lái le.
Third Brother, I'm here.
- Lu Bu 又来一个？红脸长胡子的，你是谁？
Yòu lái yí gè? Hóng liǎn cháng húzi de, nǐ shì shéi?
Another one? Red face and long beard, who are you?
- Guan Yu 关羽。我们兄弟三个，今天一起来请你让路。
Guān Yǔ. Wǒmen xiōngdì sān gè, jīntiān yìqǐ lái qǐng nǐ ràng lù.
Guan Yu. The three of us brothers have come together to ask you to step aside.
- Lu Bu 三个打一个？你们真不要脸！
Sān gè dǎ yí gè? Nǐmen zhēn bú yàoliǎn!
Three against one? Shame on you!
- Liu Bei 吕将军，对不起。我们不想伤你，只想你让开路。
Lǚ jiāngjūn, duìbuqǐ. Wǒmen bù xiǎng shāng nǐ, zhǐ xiǎng nǐ ràngkāi lù.
General Lu, I'm sorry. We don't want to hurt you. We only want you to clear the road.
- Lu Bu 让路？我从来没有让过路！
Ràng lù? Wǒ cónglái méiyǒu ràng guo lù!
Clear the road? I have never given way in my life!
- Lu Bu 我的手……怎么这么酸？赤兔马，你也累了吗？
Wǒ de shǒu… zěnme zhème suān? Chìtùmǎ, nǐ yě lèi le ma?
My arms... why do they ache so? Red Hare, are you tired too?
- Guan Yu 吕布，你还有一次机会。现在回去，我们不追。
Lǚ Bù, nǐ hái yǒu yí cì jīhuì. Xiànzài huíqù, wǒmen bù zhuī.
Lu Bu, you have one more chance. Go back now and we won't chase you.
- Lu Bu 三个人……我一个人赢不了。可是我不能说我怕！
Sān gè rén… wǒ yí gè rén yíng bù liǎo. Kěshì wǒ bù néng shuō wǒ pà!
Three men... I can't win alone. But I can't say I'm afraid!
- Lu Bu 你们等着！下次我不会输！
Nǐmen děng zhe! Xià cì wǒ bú huì shū!
Just wait! Next time I won't lose!
- Zhang Fei 哈哈！他跑了！大哥，你看，赤兔马跑得比他的话还快！
Hāhā! Tā pǎo le! Dàgē, nǐ kàn, Chìtùmǎ pǎo de bǐ tā de huà hái kuài!
Ha! He ran! Look, Big Brother, Red Hare runs faster than his big talk!
- Guan Yu 三弟，笑够了没有？我们还要去追董卓。
Sān dì, xiào gòu le méiyǒu? Wǒmen hái yào qù zhuī Dǒng Zhuō.
Third Brother, have you laughed enough? We still have to go after Dong Zhuo.
- Liu Bei 三弟，别笑。吕布跑了，可是董卓还在。
Sān dì, bié xiào. Lǚ Bù pǎo le, kěshì Dǒng Zhuō hái zài.
Third Brother, don't laugh. Lu Bu has run, but Dong Zhuo is still there.
- Narrator 董卓很生气。他搬去了长安，还把洛阳烧了。那天晚上，有一个人睡不着。
Dǒng Zhuō hěn shēngqì. Tā bān qù le Cháng'ān, hái bǎ Luòyáng shāo le. Nà tiān wǎnshang, yǒu yí gè rén shuì bù zháo.
Dong Zhuo was furious. He moved to Chang'an and burned Luoyang. That night, one man could not sleep.
- Wang Yun 十八路人马，三个英雄，也没有杀掉董卓……我该怎么办？
Shíbā lù rénmǎ, sān gè yīngxióng, yě méiyǒu shādiào Dǒng Zhuō… Wǒ gāi zěnme bàn?
Eighteen armies, three heroes, and still Dong Zhuo lives... What should I do?
- Wang Yun 董卓有吕布，就像老虎有牙。老虎的牙，谁能拔掉？
Dǒng Zhuō yǒu Lǚ Bù, jiù xiàng lǎohǔ yǒu yá. Lǎohǔ de yá, shéi néng bádiào?
Dong Zhuo has Lu Bu, like a tiger has its teeth. Who can pull a tiger's teeth?
- Diaochan 大人，您为什么每天晚上都叹气？
Dàren, nín wèishénme měi tiān wǎnshang dōu tànqì?
My lord, why do you sigh every night?
- Wang Yun 谁？……貂蝉！你怎么在这儿？
Shéi? … Diāochán! Nǐ zěnme zài zhèr?
Who's there? ...Diaochan! What are you doing here?
- Diaochan 很久了。大人每天晚上都来，一个人站很久。
Hěn jiǔ le. Dàren měi tiān wǎnshang dōu lái, yí gè rén zhàn hěn jiǔ.
A long time. You come every night and stand here alone for a long time.
- Diaochan 大人对我像亲女儿一样。我看见您的头发一天比一天白。
Dàren duì wǒ xiàng qīn nǚ'ér yíyàng. Wǒ kànjiàn nín de tóufa yì tiān bǐ yì tiān bái.
You have treated me like your own daughter. I see your hair turning whiter every day.
- Wang Yun 孩子，这是国家的事。你还小，不会懂。
Háizi, zhè shì guójiā de shì. Nǐ hái xiǎo, bú huì dǒng.
Child, this is a matter of the country. You're young. You wouldn't understand.
- Diaochan 我懂。请您告诉我，我能做什么？我愿意做任何事。
Wǒ dǒng. Qǐng nín gàosu wǒ, wǒ néng zuò shénme? Wǒ yuànyì zuò rènhé shì.
I understand. Please tell me what I can do. I am willing to do anything.
