The Cave Treasure

Tom and Becky are lost in the dark with one candle left. Then Tom sees a light he wishes he hadn't, and a secret that could make two boys rich.

There was no light in the cave and no other sound. They had been walking for a very long time.
- Becky Thatcher 汤姆，我的蜡烛快没有了。我们会不会回不去了？我想妈妈。
Tāngmǔ, wǒ de làzhú kuài méiyǒu le. Wǒmen huì bu huì huí bú qù le? Wǒ xiǎng māma.
Tom, the candle is almost gone. Will we never get home?
- Tom Sawyer 不会的！贝基，你听我说，我们一定能走出去。
Bú huì de! Bèijī, nǐ tīng wǒ shuō, wǒmen yídìng néng zǒu chūqù.
Never! Becky, listen to me, we will find our way out.

Bié pà, wǒ yǒu fēngzheng xiàn! Jiùshì Běn gěi wǒ de nàge fēngzheng. Wǒ bǎ xiàn bǎng zài shítou shàng, jiù búhuì zǒudiū le.
Don't be scared, I have kite string! It's from the kite Ben gave me. I'll tie it to a rock so we can't lose our way.
- Becky Thatcher 真的？你真聪明，汤姆！可是我听见上面有蝙蝠的声音。
Zhēnde? Nǐ zhēn cōngming, Tāngmǔ! Kěshì wǒ tīngjiàn shàngmiàn yǒu biānfú de shēngyīn.
Really? You're so clever, Tom!
- Tom Sawyer 你在这里等我，我去前面看看。
Nǐ zài zhèlǐ děng wǒ, wǒ qù qiánmiàn kànkan.
Wait for me here. I'll go look ahead.
- Tom Sawyer 咦，那边有光……是一盏灯！有人来了！
Yí, nà biān yǒu guāng… shì yì zhǎn dēng! Yǒu rén lái le!
Huh, there's a light over there... a lantern! Someone's coming!
- Becky Thatcher 是来救我们的人吗？我们快叫他！
Shì lái jiù wǒmen de rén ma? Wǒmen kuài jiào tā!
Are they here to rescue us? Let's call out to him!
- Tom Sawyer 不，等一下！那个人是乔！他没有走，他一直躲在山洞里！
Bù, děng yíxià! Nàge rén shì Qiáo! Tā méiyǒu zǒu, tā yìzhí duǒ zài shāndòng lǐ!
No, wait! That man is Joe! He never left, he's been hiding in the cave!

Qiáo? Tā bú shì cóng chuānghu táozǒu le ma?
Joe? Didn't he run away through the window?
- Tom Sawyer 他手里有一个铁盒子，在挖地……贝基，我们走另一条路！抓紧我的手。
Tā shǒu lǐ yǒu yí gè tiě hézi, zài wā dì… Bèijī, wǒmen zǒu lìng yì tiáo lù! Zhuājǐn wǒ de shǒu.
He's holding an iron box and digging in the ground... Becky, we're going another way! Hold my hand tight.
- Becky Thatcher 汤姆……你有没有觉得，有风吹过来？
Tāngmǔ… nǐ yǒu méiyǒu juéde, yǒu fēng chuī guòlái?
Tom... do you feel that? There's a breeze coming.
- Tom Sawyer 有风！有风就有出口！贝基，快，跟我来！
Yǒu fēng! Yǒu fēng jiù yǒu chūkǒu! Bèijī, kuài, gēn wǒ lái!
A breeze! A breeze means an exit! Becky, hurry, follow me!
- Narrator 他们走出了山洞，全城的人都在外面又哭又笑。后来，人们发现乔死在山洞的门口。他再也不会害人了。
Tāmen zǒu chū le shāndòng, quán chéng de rén dōu zài wàimiàn yòu kū yòu xiào. Hòulái, rénmen fāxiàn Qiáo sǐ zài shāndòng de ménkǒu. Tā zài yě búhuì hài rén le.
They walked out of the cave, and the whole town outside was crying and laughing. Later, people found Joe dead at the cave door. He would never hurt anyone again.
- Tom Sawyer 哈克！哈克！我知道乔的箱子在哪里了！
Hākè! Hākè! Wǒ zhīdào Qiáo de xiāngzi zài nǎlǐ le!
Huck! Huck! I know where Joe's box is!
- Huck Finn 箱子？什么箱子？汤姆，你慢点说。
Xiāngzi? Shénme xiāngzi? Tāngmǔ, nǐ màn diǎn shuō.
A box? What box? Tom, slow down.
- Tom Sawyer 乔在山洞里埋了一个铁盒子。我看见了，就在一块大石头下面！
Qiáo zài shāndòng lǐ mái le yí gè tiě hézi. Wǒ kànjiàn le, jiù zài yí kuài dà shítou xiàmiàn!
Joe buried an iron box in the cave. I saw it, right under a big rock!
- Huck Finn 你是说……宝藏？真的吗？
Nǐ shì shuō… bǎozàng? Zhēnde ma?
You mean... treasure? Really?
- Tom Sawyer 走！我们带着铲子和灯，现在就去！
Zǒu! Wǒmen dàizhe chǎnzi hé dēng, xiànzài jiù qù!
Come on! We'll take shovels and a lantern, right now!
- Huck Finn 汤姆，等等我！我的铲子碰到东西了，好硬！
Tāngmǔ, děngdeng wǒ! Wǒ de chǎnzi pèng dào dōngxi le, hǎo yìng!
Tom, wait for me! My shovel hit something! It's so hard!
- Tom Sawyer 快用铲子挖！这是一个大盒子！我们打开它！
Kuài yòng chǎnzi wā! Zhè shì yí gè dà hézi! Wǒmen dǎkāi tā!
Dig! It's a big box! Let's open it!
- Huck Finn 天啊……全是金币！一枚一枚，亮亮的！
Tiān a… quán shì jīnbì! Yì méi yì méi, liàngliang de!
Oh my... it's all gold coins! Every one is shining!
- Tom Sawyer 我们发财了，哈克！这些金币都是我们的，我们是全城最有钱的人！
Wǒmen fācái le, Hākè! Zhèxiē jīnbì dōu shì wǒmen de, wǒmen shì quán chéng zuì yǒuqián de rén!
We're rich, Huck! We're the richest people in town!
- Huck Finn 这么多宝藏，我不知道怎么用。我从来没有过这么多钱。
Zhème duō bǎozàng, wǒ bù zhīdào zěnme yòng. Wǒ cónglái méiyǒu guò zhème duō qián.
I don't know what to do with so much money. I've never had this much before.

Tom, our adventures are such fun. Do you think we'll be pirates again someday?
- Tom Sawyer 当然！不过这一次，我们要带着金币回家吃晚饭！
Dāngrán! Búguò zhè yí cì, wǒmen yào dàizhe jīnbì huí jiā chī wǎnfàn!
Of course! But this time we're taking the gold home for supper!
