The Pirates' Funeral

Tom and Huck live like pirates on a river island, until a cannon booms across the water. Someone is crying for them back in town, and Tom has a big surprise planned.

The raft landed in the dark. The next morning the sun rose, and two pirates woke up on the little island.
- Tom Sawyer 哈克，醒醒！你看，我们是真的海盗了！
Hākè, xǐngxing! Nǐ kàn, wǒmen shì zhēnde hǎidào le!
Huck, wake up! Look, we're real pirates now!
- Huck Finn 让我再睡一会儿……哇，这里真美。没有学校，也没有阿姨。
Ràng wǒ zài shuì yíhuìr… wā, zhèlǐ zhēn měi. Méiyǒu xuéxiào, yě méiyǒu āyí.
Let me sleep a little more... wow, it's beautiful here. No school and no aunts.

We fish, then we roast the fish! Look, I've got a bite!
- Huck Finn 哇，好大一条！我来生火。

Wow, what a big one! I'll make the fire.
- Tom Sawyer 烤鱼真香！哈克，我觉得做海盗，比做国王还好。
Kǎo yú zhēn xiāng! Hākè, wǒ juéde zuò hǎidào, bǐ zuò guówáng hái hǎo.
Roast fish smells so good! Huck, I think being a pirate beats being a king.
- Huck Finn 汤姆，你听！河上有大炮的声音！
Tāngmǔ, nǐ tīng! Hé shàng yǒu dàpào de shēngyīn!
Tom, listen! There's a cannon on the river!
- Tom Sawyer 大炮？他们为什么放大炮？我们去河边看看。
Dàpào? Tāmen wèishénme fàng dàpào? Wǒmen qù hébiān kànkan.
A cannon? Why are they firing a cannon? Let's go look from the shore.
- Huck Finn 你看，那条大船上有很多人。他们在水里找什么？
Nǐ kàn, nà tiáo dà chuán shàng yǒu hěn duō rén. Tāmen zài shuǐ lǐ zhǎo shénme?
Look, there are so many people on that big boat. What are they searching for in the water?
- Tom Sawyer 哈克！他们在找我们！他们以为我们掉进河里了！
Hākè! Tāmen zài zhǎo wǒmen! Tāmen yǐwéi wǒmen diào jìn hé lǐ le!
Huck! They're looking for us! They think we fell in the river!
- Huck Finn 天啊，那我们不是……已经死了？
Tiān a, nà wǒmen bú shì… yǐjīng sǐ le?
Oh my, then aren't we... already dead?
- Tom Sawyer 哈哈，我们成了有名的死人！可是……我想到阿姨了。她一定在哭。
Hāhā, wǒmen chéng le yǒumíng de sǐ rén! Kěshì… wǒ xiǎngdào Āyí le. Tā yídìng zài kū.
Ha ha, we're famous dead boys! But... I'm thinking about Auntie. She must be crying.
- Narrator 三天后，是星期天。小镇的教堂里坐满了人，大家都在为汤姆和哈克哭。
Sān tiān hòu, shì xīngqītiān. Xiǎozhèn de jiàotáng lǐ zuò mǎn le rén, dàjiā dōu zài wèi Tāngmǔ hé Hākè kū.
Three days later it was Sunday. The town church was full, and everyone was crying for Tom and Huck.
- Aunt Polly 汤姆，我的好孩子……我总是骂你，现在再也没有机会了。我真想再骂你一次。
Tāngmǔ, wǒ de hǎo háizi… wǒ zǒngshì mà nǐ, xiànzài zài yě méiyǒu jīhuì le. Wǒ zhēn xiǎng zài mà nǐ yí cì.
Tom, my dear boy... I was always scolding you, and now I'll never get another chance.
- Tom Sawyer 你听，阿姨在哭。哈克，我们不能再让她伤心了。
Nǐ tīng, Āyí zài kū. Hākè, wǒmen bù néng zài ràng tā shāngxīn le.
Listen, Auntie is crying. Huck, we can't make her sad any longer.
- Huck Finn 可是我们现在走进去，他们会吓坏的！
Kěshì wǒmen xiànzài zǒu jìnqù, tāmen huì xiàhuài de!
But if we walk in now, they'll be scared out of their wits!
- Tom Sawyer 走！他们会又高兴又生气的。跟我来！
Zǒu! Tāmen huì yòu gāoxìng yòu shēngqì de. Gēn wǒ lái!
Come on! They'll be happy and angry at the same time. Follow me!
- Tom Sawyer 阿姨，我回来了！
Āyí, wǒ huílái le!
Auntie, I'm back!
- Aunt Polly 汤姆？是汤姆吗？天啊，你没有死！
Tāngmǔ? Shì Tāngmǔ ma? Tiān a, nǐ méiyǒu sǐ!
Tom? Is that Tom? Oh my goodness, you're not dead!
- Aunt Polly 你这个坏孩子，我三天没睡觉！过来，让我抱抱你！
Nǐ zhège huài háizi, wǒ sān tiān méi shuìjiào! Guòlái, ràng wǒ bàobao nǐ!
You naughty boy, I haven't slept for three days! Come here and let me hug you!
- Tom Sawyer 阿姨，对不起。我们去当海盗了，没想到大家会这么难过。以后我不会再让你担心了。
Āyí, duìbuqǐ. Wǒmen qù dāng hǎidào le, méi xiǎngdào dàjiā huì zhème nánguò. Yǐhòu wǒ búhuì zài ràng nǐ dānxīn le.
I'm sorry, Auntie. We went to be pirates, and I never thought everyone would be so sad.
- Huck Finn 波莉阿姨……我也回来了。
Bōlì Āyí… wǒ yě huílái le.
Aunt Polly... I'm back too.
- Aunt Polly 哈克，你也过来，让我看看你。今天大家都哭过了，不许再哭了。
Hākè, nǐ yě guòlái, ràng wǒ kànkan nǐ. Jīntiān dàjiā dōu kū guò le, bù xǔ zài kū le.
Huck, you come here too and let me look at you. We've all cried enough today, no more crying.
- Huck Finn 阿姨，你不骂我吗？
Āyí, nǐ bú mà wǒ ma?
Aren't you going to scold me?
- Aunt Polly 骂什么？回来就好。今晚我做热饭给你们吃。
Mà shénme? Huílái jiù hǎo. Jīnwǎn wǒ zuò rè fàn gěi nǐmen chī.
Scold you for what? You're home, that's what matters. Tonight I'll cook a hot supper for you both.
- Tom Sawyer 哈克，我有一件很重要的事要告诉你。老波特明天要上法庭。
Hākè, wǒ yǒu yí jiàn hěn zhòngyào de shì yào gàosu nǐ. Lǎo Bótè míngtiān yào shàng fǎtíng.
Huck, I have something to tell you. Old Potter goes to court tomorrow.
- Huck Finn 汤姆，你想说什么？你不能说！乔会……
Tāngmǔ, nǐ xiǎng shuō shénme? Nǐ bù néng shuō! Qiáo huì…
Tom, what are you thinking of saying? You can't! Joe will...
- Tom Sawyer 我不怕了！我们连自己的葬礼都来了，明天法庭上，我要说真话！
Wǒ bú pà le! Wǒmen lián zìjǐ de zànglǐ dōu lái le, míngtiān fǎtíng shàng, wǒ yào shuō zhēnhuà!
I'm not afraid anymore! We even came to our own funeral. Tomorrow in court, I'm telling the truth!
