The next day the courtroom was packed. Old Potter stood at the front, his head hanging low.
The Judge 现在，请汤姆·索亚上来。孩子，你在那天晚上看见了什么？
Xiànzài, qǐng Tāngmǔ Suǒyà shànglái. Háizi, nǐ zài nà tiān wǎnshang kànjiàn le shénme?
Now, will Tom Sawyer please come up. Child, what did you see that night?
Tom Sawyer 我……我那天半夜在墓地里。我和哈克都在。
Wǒ… wǒ nà tiān bànyè zài mùdì lǐ. Wǒ hé Hākè dōu zài.
I... I was in the graveyard that night at midnight. Huck and I both were.

Speak up, child. Don't be afraid.
Tom Sawyer 我看见了乔！是他拿着刀。医生倒下的时候，老波特已经睡着了！
Wǒ kànjiàn le Qiáo! Shì tā názhe dāo. Yīshēng dǎoxià de shíhou, Lǎo Bótè yǐjīng shuìzháo le!
I saw Joe! He was the one with the knife. When the Doctor fell, Old Potter was already asleep!
Old Potter 汤姆……天啊，谢谢你，孩子！
Tāngmǔ… tiān a, xièxie nǐ, háizi!
Tom... oh, thank you, child!
The Judge 乔？乔在哪里？这是真的吗？
Qiáo? Qiáo zài nǎlǐ? Zhè shì zhēnde ma?
Joe? Where is Joe? Is this true?
Joe 他在说谎！这个孩子什么都不懂！我要走了！
Tā zài shuōhuǎng! Zhège háizi shénme dōu bù dǒng! Wǒ yào zǒu le!
He's lying! This kid knows nothing! I'm leaving!
Narrator 大家都回头看。乔一下子跳起来，冲向窗户，跳了出去。
Dàjiā dōu huítóu kàn. Qiáo yíxiàzi tiào qǐlái, chōng xiàng chuānghu, tiào le chūqù.
Everyone turned around. Joe leaped up, rushed to the window and jumped out.
Tom Sawyer 他跑了！他从窗户跑了！
Tā pǎo le! Tā cóng chuānghu pǎo le!
He's gone! He ran out the window!
The Judge 快！快去抓住他！
Kuài! Kuài qù zhuāzhù tā!
Quick! Go and catch him!
Old Potter 我自由了！我不用再哭了！汤姆，你救了我！
Wǒ zìyóu le! Wǒ búyòng zài kū le! Tāngmǔ, nǐ jiù le wǒ!
I'm free! I don't have to cry any more! Tom, you saved me!
Tom Sawyer 波特先生，不用谢我。我早就应该说了。
Bótè Xiānsheng, búyòng xiè wǒ. Wǒ zǎojiù yīnggāi shuō le.
Mr. Potter, no need to thank me. I should have spoken up long ago.
Old Potter 你是个好孩子。你是个勇敢的好孩子。
Nǐ shì gè hǎo háizi. Nǐ shì gè yǒnggǎn de hǎo háizi.
You're a good boy. A brave, good boy.
Narrator 几个星期以后，天气很好。学校的孩子们去山边野餐，山边有一个很大的山洞。
Jǐ gè xīngqī yǐhòu, tiānqì hěn hǎo. Xuéxiào de háizimen qù shānbiān yěcān, shānbiān yǒu yí gè hěn dà de shāndòng.
A few weeks later the weather was lovely. The schoolchildren went for a picnic by the hills, where there was a huge cave.
Becky Thatcher 汤姆，你看，那个山洞好大！里面会不会有宝藏？
Tāngmǔ, nǐ kàn, nàge shāndòng hǎo dà! Lǐmiàn huì bu huì yǒu bǎozàng?
Tom, look, that cave is huge! Could there be treasure inside?
Tom Sawyer 也许有！大家都说，山洞里有很多路，进去的人常常迷路。
Yěxǔ yǒu! Dàjiā dōu shuō, shāndòng lǐ yǒu hěn duō lù, jìnqù de rén chángcháng mílù.
Maybe! Everyone says the cave has lots of tunnels and people who go in often get lost.
Becky Thatcher 那我们要小心一点。你带蜡烛了吗？
Nà wǒmen yào xiǎoxīn yìdiǎn. Nǐ dài làzhú le ma?
Then we should be careful. Did you bring candles?
Tom Sawyer 当然！我带了几根蜡烛，我们只看一会儿。
Dāngrán! Wǒ dài le jǐ gēn làzhú, wǒmen zhǐ kàn yíhuìr.
Of course! I brought a few candles, and we'll only look for a little while.
Becky Thatcher 好，可是你要一直跟着我，别把我丢下。
Hǎo, kěshì nǐ yào yìzhí gēnzhe wǒ, bié bǎ wǒ diūxià.
Okay, but you have to stay with me and not leave me behind.
Tom Sawyer 我不会丢下你的！你看，这里有一个小门！

I'd never leave you behind! Look, there's a little door here!

It's so dark! Wow, there's a huge room in here, and paintings on the walls!

Wǒmen zài qiáng shàng xiě míngzi ba! Wǒ xiě Tāngmǔ, nǐ xiě Bèijī.
Let's write our names on the wall! I'll write Tom, you write Becky.
Becky Thatcher 汤姆，你听！上面有声音，好像有很多蝙蝠。
Tāngmǔ, nǐ tīng! Shàngmiàn yǒu shēngyīn, hǎoxiàng yǒu hěn duō biānfú.
Tom, listen! Something's up there, it sounds like lots of bats.
Tom Sawyer 别怕，蝙蝠不咬人。它们只是怕光。我们从这条路出去。
Bié pà, biānfú bù yǎo rén. Tāmen zhǐshì pà guāng. Wǒmen cóng zhè tiáo lù chūqù.
Don't be scared, bats don't bite. We'll go out this way.
Becky Thatcher 我们走了好久了。汤姆，这条路我们走过吗？
Wǒmen zǒu le hǎojiǔ le. Tāngmǔ, zhè tiáo lù wǒmen zǒu guò ma?
We've been walking for ages. Tom, have we been down this tunnel before?
Tom Sawyer 我……我觉得走过。别担心，我记得路，前面就是出口。
Wǒ… wǒ juéde zǒu guò. Bié dānxīn, wǒ jìde lù, qiánmiàn jiùshì chūkǒu.
I... I think we have. Don't worry, I remember the way.
Becky Thatcher 汤姆，我好冷，也好饿。妈妈一定在找我们。
Tāngmǔ, wǒ hǎo lěng, yě hǎo è. Māma yídìng zài zhǎo wǒmen.
Tom, I'm cold and hungry. Mom must be looking for us.
Becky Thatcher 汤姆，我的蜡烛只剩一点了。你的呢？
Tāngmǔ, wǒ de làzhú zhǐ shèng yìdiǎn le. Nǐ de ne?
Tom, my candle is almost gone. What about yours?
Tom Sawyer 我的也只剩一点了。
Wǒ de yě zhǐ shèng yìdiǎn le.
Mine is almost gone too.
Becky Thatcher 汤姆……为什么外面的人听不见我们？我们迷路了，是不是？
Tāngmǔ… wèishénme wàimiàn de rén tīng bú jiàn wǒmen? Wǒmen mílù le, shì bu shì?
Tom... why can't the people outside hear us? We're lost, aren't we?
