Frequently asked questions

Is 对不起 always the best word for sorry?

No. 对不起 fits a real apology; 不好意思 is often lighter and can introduce a small interruption, inconvenience, or misunderstanding. Context and relationship still matter.

Do I need audio to use this workbook?

No. Every target phrase includes Hanzi, tone-marked pinyin, English, and a use note. Audio can be extra practice but is not required.

Are these the only natural replies?

No. Mandarin has many regional and personal choices. These are short, widely useful beginner options, not a claim that every situation has one fixed reply.
