A hen? Jack, we don't need a hen, we need money!

Oh my heavens! A gold… a golden egg!
- Jack 以后，我们天天都有金蛋了！
Yǐhòu, wǒmen tiāntiān dōu yǒu jīndàn le!
From now on, we'll have golden eggs every day!
- Narrator 那天以后，杰克家有了很多很多钱。
Nà tiān yǐhòu, Jiékè jiā yǒu le hěn duō hěn duō qián.
From that day on, Jack's family had all the money they needed.
- Jack 可是……巨人的家里，还有什么好东西呢？我想再去看看！
Kěshì… jùrén de jiā lǐ, hái yǒu shénme hǎo dōngxi ne? Wǒ xiǎng zài qù kànkan!
But… what other treasures could the giant have up there? I want to go and look one more time!
- Jack's Mother 杰克！我们有金蛋了，你还去干什么？
Jiékè! Wǒmen yǒu jīndàn le, nǐ hái qù gàn shénme?
Jack! We have golden eggs now. Why would you go back up there?
- Jack 放心吧，妈妈！就一次，最后一次！
Fàngxīn ba, māma! Jiù yí cì, zuìhòu yí cì!
Don't worry, Mother! Just once more, the very last time!
- Jack's Mother 你说“放心吧”，我就更不放心了！
Nǐ shuō “fàngxīn ba”, wǒ jiù gèng bú fàngxīn le!
When you say “don't worry,” I worry even more!
- Narrator 这一次，杰克没有去门口。他在大树后边等着。
Zhè yí cì, Jiékè méiyǒu qù ménkǒu. Tā zài dà shù hòubian děngzhe.
This time, Jack didn't go up to the door. He hid behind a big tree and waited.
- The Giant's Wife 没有水了，我去拿一点儿水。
Méiyǒu shuǐ le, wǒ qù ná yìdiǎnr shuǐ.
We're out of water. I'll go and fetch some.
- Jack 她走了！快进去……那边有一个大锅，我进大锅里去！
Tā zǒu le! Kuài jìnqù… nàbiān yǒu yí gè dà guō, wǒ jìn dà guō lǐ qù!
She's gone! In I go, quick… There's a big pot over there. I'll hide inside it!
- Narrator 不一会儿，巨人和巨人太太都回来了。
Bù yíhuìr, jùrén hé Jùrén tàitai dōu huílái le.
Before long, the giant and his wife both came home.
- The Giant 闻一闻！找一找！小孩的味道我知道！小孩小孩你别跑！
Wén yi wén! Zhǎo yi zhǎo! Xiǎohái de wèidao wǒ zhīdào! Xiǎohái xiǎohái nǐ bié pǎo!
Sniff, sniff! Seek, seek! A child I smell, I know it well! Little child, little child, don't you run!
- The Giant's Wife 小孩？是那个拿金子、拿鸡的小孩吗？他一定在炉子里！
Xiǎohái? Shì nàge ná jīnzi, ná jī de xiǎohái ma? Tā yídìng zài lúzi lǐ!
A child? The one who took the gold and the hen? Then he must be in the oven!
- The Giant 炉子！我来看看……没有！没有人！
Lúzi! Wǒ lái kànkan… méiyǒu! Méiyǒu rén!
The oven! Let me look… Nothing! Nobody's in there!
- The Giant's Wife 你看，没有吧？你和你的鼻子！
Nǐ kàn, méiyǒu ba? Nǐ hé nǐ de bízi!
See? Nobody! You and that nose of yours!
- The Giant 不对……我闻到了，真的闻到了……
Bú duì… wǒ wén dào le, zhēn de wén dào le…
That's not right… I smelled a child. I really did…
- Jack 别看大锅……别看大锅……
Bié kàn dà guō… bié kàn dà guō…
Don't look in the pot… don't look in the pot…
- The Giant 老婆，把我的金竖琴拿来！我要听歌！
Lǎopo, bǎ wǒ de jīn shùqín ná lái! Wǒ yào tīng gē!
Wife, bring me my golden harp! I want a song!
- The Giant 金竖琴，唱歌！
Jīn shùqín, chànggē!
Golden harp, sing!
- The Golden Harp 睡吧，睡吧，大个子……睡吧，睡吧，快睡吧……
Shuì ba, shuì ba, dà gèzi… shuì ba, shuì ba, kuài shuì ba…
Sleep now, sleep now, big fellow… sleep now, sleep now, off to sleep…
- Narrator 金竖琴的歌真好听。巨人听着听着，就睡了。
Jīn shùqín de gē zhēn hǎotīng. Jùrén tīngzhe tīngzhe, jiù shuì le.
The golden harp's song was so lovely that the giant listened and listened, and fell asleep.
- Jack 真好听……我也想睡了……不行，不能睡！
Zhēn hǎotīng… wǒ yě xiǎng shuì le… bù xíng, bù néng shuì!
So lovely… I'm getting sleepy too… No! I mustn't fall asleep!
- Jack 金竖琴，跟我回家吧！
