- The Jade Emperor 两个孙悟空？这可真奇怪。天王，请你拿照妖镜来，照一照他们。
Liǎng gè Sūn Wùkōng? Zhè kě zhēn qíguài. Tiānwáng, qǐng nǐ ná zhàoyāojìng lái, zhào yi zhào tāmen.
Two Sun Wukongs? How strange. Heavenly King, bring the demon-revealing mirror and look at them.

Yes, Your Majesty. Sun Wukong, please stand in front of the mirror.
- The Heavenly King 这面镜子，能照出所有的妖怪，可是……奇怪！镜子里，还是两个孙悟空，一个都没有变。
Zhè miàn jìngzi, néng zhào chū suǒyǒu de yāoguai, kěshì… qíguài! Jìngzi lǐ, háishì liǎng gè Sūn Wùkōng, yí gè dōu méiyǒu biàn.
This mirror shows every demon, but... how strange! In the mirror there are still two Sun Wukongs, and neither one has changed.
- Sun Wukong 天王，你再照一次！老孙是真的！
Tiānwáng, nǐ zài zhào yí cì! Lǎo Sūn shì zhēn de!
Heavenly King, look once more! Old Sun is the real one!
- The Heavenly King 我照了三次，都一样。陛下，我看不出来。
Wǒ zhào le sān cì, dōu yíyàng. Bìxià, wǒ kàn bu chūlái.
I have looked three times, and it is the same. Your Majesty, I cannot tell.
- The Jade Emperor 连照妖镜也没有办法？悟空，你们去地府吧，也许阎王那里，会有答案。
Lián zhàoyāojìng yě méiyǒu bànfǎ? Wùkōng, nǐmen qù dìfǔ ba, yěxǔ Yánwáng nàlǐ, huì yǒu dá'àn.
Even the mirror cannot help? Wukong, go to the underworld. Perhaps King Yama will have an answer.
- The Fake Wukong 好啊，去就去！我是真的，我不怕！
Hǎo a, qù jiù qù! Wǒ shì zhēn de, wǒ búpà!
Fine, let's go! I'm the real one, I'm not afraid!
- Sun Wukong 老孙也不怕！走！
Lǎo Sūn yě búpà! Zǒu!
Old Sun isn't afraid either! Let's go!
- Narrator 两个悟空一路吵着，来到了黑黑的地府。
Liǎng gè Wùkōng yílù chǎo zhe, láidào le hēihēi de dìfǔ.
The two Wukongs argued all the way and came to the dark underworld.
- King Yama 孙悟空？哪一个孙悟空？这里是地府，怎么来了两个孙悟空？
Sūn Wùkōng? Nǎ yí gè Sūn Wùkōng? Zhèlǐ shì dìfǔ, zěnme lái le liǎng gè Sūn Wùkōng?
Sun Wukong? Which Sun Wukong? This is the underworld, so why have two of you come?
- Sun Wukong 阎王，请你查一查你的大书！看看老孙的名字在哪里，就知道谁是真的了！
Yánwáng, qǐng nǐ chá yi chá nǐ de dà shū! Kànkan Lǎo Sūn de míngzi zài nǎlǐ, jiù zhīdào shuí shì zhēn de le!
King Yama, please check your big book! See where Old Sun's name is and you will know who is real!
- King Yama 我查过了。很久以前，有一只猴子来这里，把自己的名字划掉了，我一直记得。
Wǒ chá guò le. Hěn jiǔ yǐqián, yǒu yì zhī hóuzi lái zhèlǐ, bǎ zìjǐ de míngzi huá diào le, wǒ yìzhí jìde.
I have checked. Long ago a monkey came here and crossed his own name out, and I have always remembered it.
- Sun Wukong 对，是老孙划的！
Duì, shì Lǎo Sūn huá de!
Yes, Old Sun crossed it out!

- King Yama 你们说的话，也一模一样。我实在帮不了你们。
Nǐmen shuō de huà, yě yì mú yí yàng. Wǒ shízài bāng bu liǎo nǐmen.
Your words are the same, too. I truly cannot help you.
- King Yama 不过，我这里有一个朋友，叫谛听。世上所有的声音，他都听得到，什么也骗不了他。
Búguò, wǒ zhèlǐ yǒu yí gè péngyou, jiào Dìtīng. Shìshàng suǒyǒu de shēngyīn, tā dōu tīng de dào, shénme yě piàn bu liǎo tā.
But I have a friend here called Diting. He hears every sound in the world, and nothing can fool him.
- The Listening Beast 我在这儿……啊，原来是两个孙悟空。
Wǒ zài zhèr… a, yuánlái shì liǎng gè Sūn Wùkōng.
I'm here... ah, so it is two Sun Wukongs.
- Sun Wukong 谛听，你怎么闭着眼睛？
Dìtīng, nǐ zěnme bì zhe yǎnjīng?
Diting, why are your eyes closed?
- The Listening Beast 闭着眼睛，才听得清楚。
Bì zhe yǎnjīng, cái tīng de qīngchu.
With my eyes closed, I hear better.
- Sun Wukong 那你快说，谁是真的？师父还在等老孙回去呢！
Nà nǐ kuài shuō, shuí shì zhēn de? Shīfu hái zài děng Lǎo Sūn huíqù ne!
Then say it quickly. Who is the real one? Master is still waiting for Old Sun!
- The Listening Beast 我知道。可是……我不能大声说。
Wǒ zhīdào. Kěshì… wǒ bùnéng dà shēng shuō.
I know. But... I cannot say it out loud.
- Sun Wukong 为什么？
Wèishénme?
Why not?
- The Listening Beast 那个假的，本领跟你一样大。我一说出来，他就会跑掉。跑了以后，天上地下，谁也抓不到他。
Nàge jiǎ de, běnlǐng gēn nǐ yíyàng dà. Wǒ yì shuō chūlái, tā jiù huì pǎo diào. Pǎo le yǐhòu, tiānshàng dìxià, shuí yě zhuā bu dào tā.
The fake one is as strong as you. The moment I say it, he will run. And once he runs, no one in Heaven or below can catch him.
- The Fake Wukong 哈哈，你在说什么？我听不懂！
Hāhā, nǐ zài shuō shénme? Wǒ tīng bu dǒng!
Ha ha, what are you saying? I don't understand!
- Sun Wukong 谛听，你听到了吗？他怕了！
Dìtīng, nǐ tīngdào le ma? Tā pà le!
Diting, did you hear that? He's afraid!
- The Listening Beast 我只能告诉你们一件事：去雷音寺，找佛祖。
Wǒ zhǐnéng gàosù nǐmen yí jiàn shì: qù Léiyīn Sì, zhǎo Fózǔ.
I can tell you only one thing: go to Thunder Monastery and find the Buddha.
- The Listening Beast 只有佛祖，能让他跑不了。
Zhǐyǒu Fózǔ, néng ràng tā pǎo bu liǎo.
Only the Buddha can keep him from running.
- The Fake Wukong 去……去就去！我是真的，我怕什么？
Qù… qù jiù qù! Wǒ shì zhēn de, wǒ pà shénme?
Go... let's go! I'm the real one. What have I to fear?
- Sun Wukong 假猴子，你跑不了了！走，我们去雷音寺！
Jiǎ hóuzi, nǐ pǎo bu liǎo le! Zǒu, wǒmen qù Léiyīn Sì!
Fake monkey, you can't run now! Come on, we're going to Thunder Monastery!
