The pilgrims cross the river at last, swap stories about their troubles in heaven, and set off west together. But Wukong doesn't like the look of the next mountain.

- Narrator 木叉把红葫芦放在水上。葫芦越变越大，变成了一条小船。
Mùchā bǎ hóng húlu fàng zài shuǐ shang. Húlu yuè biàn yuè dà, biànchéng le yì tiáo xiǎo chuán.
Muzha set the red gourd on the water. It grew bigger and bigger, until it had become a little boat.
- Zhu Bajie 啊，葫芦变成船了！老猪第一个上！
A, húlu biànchéng chuán le! Lǎo Zhū dì-yī gè shàng!
Oh, the gourd's turned into a boat! Old Pig's getting on first!
- Sun Wukong 呆子，你坐好，别跳！船在动！
Dāizi, nǐ zuò hǎo, bié tiào! Chuán zài dòng!
Dummy, sit still and stop jumping! The boat's rocking!

Ha ha, Brother Monkey, are you scared of water?
- Sun Wukong 老孙不怕水！老孙只是……不喜欢水！
Lǎo Sūn bú pà shuǐ! Lǎo Sūn zhǐshì… bù xǐhuan shuǐ!
Old Sun is not scared of water! Old Sun just... doesn't like it!
- Narrator 小船走得很快。八百里的流沙河，一会儿就过了一半。
Xiǎo chuán zǒu de hěn kuài. Bābǎi lǐ de Liúshā Hé, yíhuìr jiù guò le yíbàn.
The little boat sped along, and in no time they were halfway across the eight hundred li of the Flowing Sand River.
- Tang Seng 悟净，你说你以前住在天上。那你为什么到了这里？
Wùjìng, nǐ shuō nǐ yǐqián zhù zài tiānshàng. Nà nǐ wèishénme dào le zhèlǐ?
Wujing, you said you used to live in heaven. So how did you end up here?
- Sha Wujing 我以前是天上的卷帘大将。那年蟠桃会，我不小心，打破了一个很贵的杯子。
Wǒ yǐqián shì tiānshàng de Juǎnlián Dàjiàng. Nà nián Pántáo Huì, wǒ bù xiǎoxīn, dǎpò le yí gè hěn guì de bēizi.
I used to be the Curtain-Lifting General in heaven. At the Peach Banquet one year, I broke a very precious cup by accident.
- Sha Wujing 玉帝很生气，就让我到这条河里来了。
Yùdì hěn shēngqì, jiù ràng wǒ dào zhè tiáo hé lǐ lái le.
The Jade Emperor was very angry, and he sent me down to this river.
- Zhu Bajie 蟠桃会？我也是在蟠桃会上出的事！
Pántáo Huì? Wǒ yě shì zài Pántáo Huì shang chū de shì!
The Peach Banquet? That's where I got into trouble too!
- Sun Wukong 蟠桃会？老孙也去过！客人还没来，老孙就把好吃的都吃了！
Pántáo Huì? Lǎo Sūn yě qù guò! Kèrén hái méi lái, Lǎo Sūn jiù bǎ hǎochī de dōu chī le!
The Peach Banquet? Old Sun's been there too! Before the guests even arrived, Old Sun ate up all the good food!
- Tang Seng 阿弥陀佛！原来我的徒弟，还有我的白马，以前都做过错事。
Ēmítuófó! Yuánlái wǒ de túdì, hái yǒu wǒ de bái mǎ, yǐqián dōu zuò guò cuòshì.
Amitabha! So every one of my disciples, and my white horse too, has made mistakes in the past.
- Tang Seng 做错了，没关系。以后，我们一起做好事，一起去西天。
Zuò cuò le, méi guānxi. Yǐhòu, wǒmen yìqǐ zuò hǎoshì, yìqǐ qù Xītiān.
What's done is done. From now on, we'll do good together, and go to the West together.
- Narrator 小船到了河边。木叉拿回葫芦，飞回了南海。
Xiǎo chuán dào le hé biān. Mùchā náhuí húlu, fēi huí le Nán Hǎi.
The little boat reached the far bank. Muzha took back his gourd and flew home to the Southern Sea.
- Muzha 再见！你们在路上，要好好保护唐僧啊！
Zàijiàn! Nǐmen zài lù shang, yào hǎohǎo bǎohù Táng Sēng a!
Goodbye! Take good care of Tang Seng on the road!
- Sun Wukong 放心吧！有老孙在，什么妖怪都不怕！
Fàngxīn ba! Yǒu Lǎo Sūn zài, shénme yāoguài dōu bú pà!
Don't worry! With Old Sun around, there's no demon to fear!
- Narrator 他们又上路了。沙和尚挑着行李，唐僧骑着白马。
Tāmen yòu shàng lù le. Shā Héshang tiāozhe xíngli, Táng Sēng qízhe bái mǎ.
They set off again. Sha Heshang carried the luggage on a pole over his shoulder, and Tang Seng rode the white horse.
- Zhu Bajie 弼马温，你以前在天上管马。现在这匹白马，你来管吧！
Bìmǎwēn, nǐ yǐqián zài tiānshàng guǎn mǎ. Xiànzài zhè pǐ bái mǎ, nǐ lái guǎn ba!
Hey, Bimawen, you used to look after the horses in heaven. So you can look after this white horse!
- Sun Wukong 呆子！你再叫一声弼马温，老孙就……
Dāizi! Nǐ zài jiào yì shēng Bìmǎwēn, Lǎo Sūn jiù…
Dummy! Call me Bimawen one more time, and Old Sun will...
- Tang Seng 悟空……
Wùkōng…
Wukong...
- Sun Wukong 师父，别念！别念！老孙不打他！老孙来管马！
Shīfu, bié niàn! Bié niàn! Lǎo Sūn bù dǎ tā! Lǎo Sūn lái guǎn mǎ!
Master, don't say it! Don't say it! Old Sun won't hit him! Old Sun will look after the horse!
- Narrator 太阳下山了。师徒四人，一起往西走去。
Tàiyáng xià shān le. Shītú sì rén, yìqǐ wǎng xī zǒu qù.
The sun went down behind the mountains, and the master and his three disciples walked on toward the west, together.
- Tang Seng 有了你们三个徒弟，我什么都不怕了。
Yǒu le nǐmen sān gè túdì, wǒ shénme dōu bú pà le.
With you three disciples beside me, I'm not afraid of anything anymore.
- Sha Wujing 师父去哪儿，我们就去哪儿。
Shīfu qù nǎr, wǒmen jiù qù nǎr.
Wherever you go, Master, we go too.
- Zhu Bajie 可是师父，天黑了，我们去哪儿吃饭啊？老猪饿了！
Kěshì shīfu, tiān hēi le, wǒmen qù nǎr chīfàn a? Lǎo Zhū è le!
But Master, it's getting dark. Where are we going to eat? Old Pig is hungry!
- Sun Wukong 等一下！前面那座山，白白的，看不清楚……老孙用火眼金睛看看。
Děng yíxià! Qiánmiàn nà zuò shān, báibái de, kàn bu qīngchu… Lǎo Sūn yòng huǒyǎn jīnjīng kànkan.
Wait! That mountain up ahead is all white and hard to make out... Old Sun will take a look with his fiery golden eyes.
- Sun Wukong 不好！那座山上，有妖气！
Bù hǎo! Nà zuò shān shang, yǒu yāoqì!
Uh-oh! There's a demon's aura hanging over that mountain!
- Zhu Bajie 妖气？老猪什么都没看见。那座山上，会不会有好吃的？
Yāoqì? Lǎo Zhū shénme dōu méi kànjiàn. Nà zuò shān shang, huì bu huì yǒu hǎochī de?
A demon's aura? Old Pig can't see a thing. Do you think there's anything good to eat up there?
- Sun Wukong 呆子，在那样的山上，好吃的东西，可能就是妖怪变的！
Dāizi, zài nàyàng de shān shang, hǎochī de dōngxi, kěnéng jiù shì yāoguài biàn de!
Dummy, on a mountain like that, anything good to eat might just be a demon in disguise!
