At a busy market stall, Holmes trades a pound for a name. Then a pale, trembling stranger starts asking about the very same geese.

Why do you ask? I don't like people poking around. Are you buying or not?

Your friend is right! My geese all come from the country.
- Sherlock Holmes 不可能！我赌一镑，是城里的！

Impossible! I bet a pound they're from the city!
- Mr. Breckinridge 好！一镑！我从奥克肖特太太那儿买的鹅。她在城南乡下养鹅。
Hǎo! Yí bàng! Wǒ cóng Àokèxiàotè tàitai nàr mǎi de é. Tā zài chéngnán xiāngxià yǎng é.
Fine! A pound! I bought them from Mrs. Oakshott. She raises geese in the country, south of the city.
- Sherlock Holmes 好吧，我输了。给您一镑。
Hǎo ba, wǒ shū le. Gěi nín yí bàng.
All right, I lose. Here's your pound.
- Mr. Breckinridge 哈哈哈，谢谢您，先生！圣诞快乐！
Hāhāhā, xièxie nín, xiānsheng! Shèngdàn kuàilè!
Ha ha ha, thank you, sir! Merry Christmas!
- Dr. Watson 福尔摩斯，你输得真高兴。
Fú'ěrmósī, nǐ shū de zhēn gāoxìng.

Mr. Breckinridge! Where did you buy your geese? Please tell me!

Friend, wait! I'm Holmes. You're looking for a goose, aren't you?

How do you know? I'm Ryder. I haven't done anything!
- Dr. Watson 赖德先生，别怕。外面冷，先上车吧。

Mr. Ryder, don't be afraid. It's cold out here, so please get in the cab.
- Sherlock Holmes 你要找的那只鹅，已经不在了。可是它肚子里的东西，在我家。
