Wǒ de lǎo tàitai… tā xiànzài shì nǚwáng.
My wife... she is a queen now.
- The Old Fisherman 她想做海的女王，她要你给她做事。
Tā xiǎng zuò hǎi de nǚwáng, tā yào nǐ gěi tā zuò shì.
She wants to be queen of the sea. She wants you to work for her.
- The Golden Fish 这一次，我不说好。
Zhè yí cì, wǒ bù shuō hǎo.
This time, I won't say yes.
- The Golden Fish 她要得太多。什么都想要的人，最后什么都没有。
Tā yào de tài duō. Shénme dōu xiǎng yào de rén, zuìhòu shénme dōu méiyǒu.
She asks for too much. A person who wants everything ends up with nothing.

Jīnyú… duìbuqǐ. Xièxie nǐ.

- The Golden Fish 你是好人，老爷爷。回家吧。
Nǐ shì hǎorén, lǎo yéye. Huí jiā ba.

- Narrator 老渔夫回到家。大房子不见了。
Lǎo yúfū huídào jiā. Dà fángzi bú jiàn le.
The old fisherman came home. The big house was gone.
- The Old Wife 老头子……你回来了。
Lǎo tóuzi… nǐ huílái le.
Old man... you're back.
- The Old Wife 我们的房子……又小了。木盆也坏了。
Wǒmen de fángzi… yòu xiǎo le. Mùpén yě huài le.
Our house... is small again. And the washtub is broken.
- The Old Fisherman 大房子，贵妇人，女王……都不见了。
Dà fángzi, guìfùrén, nǚwáng… dōu bú jiàn le.
The big house, the noblewoman, the queen... all gone.
- The Old Fisherman 小房子也是我们的家。
Xiǎo fángzi yě shì wǒmen de jiā.
A small house is still our home.
- The Old Wife 对不起，老头子。我要得太多了。
Duìbuqǐ, lǎo tóuzi. Wǒ yào de tài duō le.
I'm sorry, old man. I asked for too much.
- The Old Fisherman 没关系。明天我们一起做一个新木盆。
