Watson and Sir Henry reach the dark hall on the moor. The butler is nervous, the soldiers hunt an escaped convict, and someone is crying in the night.

Two days later, after a whole day on the train, Watson and Sir Henry reached a small station at the edge of the moor.
- Sir Henry 华生，你看，外面全是荒野！这就是我叔叔住了一辈子的地方。
Huáshēng, nǐ kàn, wàimiàn quán shì huāngyě! Zhè jiùshì wǒ shūshu zhù le yíbèizi de dìfang.
Watson, look, it's all moor out there! This is where my uncle lived his whole life.
- Dr. Watson 车站上怎么有那么多带枪的士兵？他们是在等什么人吗？

Yesterday a convict escaped from the prison nearby. His name is Selden. He has done terrible things and is very dangerous.
- Sir Henry 逃犯？那他现在会躲在哪儿？
Táofàn? Nà tā xiànzài huì duǒ zài nǎr?
A convict? Where could he be hiding now?
- Dr. Mortimer 谁也不知道。荒野又大又黑，还有很多山洞，他可以躲在任何地方。
Shuí yě bù zhīdào. Huāngyě yòu dà yòu hēi, háiyǒu hěnduō shāndòng, tā kěyǐ duǒ zài rènhé dìfang.
Nobody knows. The moor is big and dark, with many caves. He could hide anywhere.
- Dr. Watson 亨利，你要小心，天黑以后，千万不要一个人乱走。
Hēnglì, nǐ yào xiǎoxīn, tiānhēi yǐhòu, qiānwàn bú yào yí gè rén luàn zǒu.
Henry, be careful. After dark, never wander around alone.
- Sir Henry 你说话的样子，越来越像福尔摩斯了！
Nǐ shuōhuà de yàngzi, yuè lái yuè xiàng Fú'ěrmósī le!
You're starting to sound just like Holmes!
- Dr. Watson 这里又冷又安静。我总觉得，好像有什么东西，正躲在石头后面看着我们。

We're here! This is Baskerville Hall!
- Dr. Watson 房子好大，也好黑。
Fángzi hǎo dà, yě hǎo hēi.
The house is huge, and so dark.
- Barrymore 欢迎回家，亨利爵士。我是巴里摩尔，在这个家工作了很多年。

Sir, my wife has dinner ready. Please wash up and then come to the great hall to eat.
- Sir Henry 好，谢谢。不过，这里的灯为什么这么暗？
Hǎo, xièxie. Búguò, zhèlǐ de dēng wèishénme zhème àn?
Good, thank you. But why are the lamps so dim here?
- Barrymore 老房子就是这样，爵士。这里的灯太少，您会慢慢习惯的。

That's how old houses are, sir. There are few lamps here, but you will get used to it.

Barrymore's hands are shaking. He looks very nervous, as if he's holding something back.
- Sir Henry 华生，我叔叔就是在外面那条小路上死的吗？

Watson, is that the path where my uncle died?
- Dr. Watson 对。明天我们去看看。今晚太晚了，你先好好休息。
Duì. Míngtiān wǒmen qù kàn kan. Jīnwǎn tài wǎn le, nǐ xiān hǎo hǎo xiūxi.
Yes. We'll look tomorrow. It's too late tonight. Get some rest first.
- Narrator 半夜，华生被一个奇怪的声音叫醒了。
Bànyè, Huáshēng bèi yí gè qíguài de shēngyīn jiàoxǐng le.
In the middle of the night, a strange sound woke Watson.
- Dr. Watson 那是什么声音……好像有人在哭。
Nà shì shénme shēngyīn…… hǎoxiàng yǒurén zài kū.
What's that sound... It sounds like someone crying.
- Dr. Watson 是一个女人！声音是从楼上传来的。我得去告诉亨利。
Shì yí gè nǚrén! Shēngyīn shì cóng lóushàng chuánlái de. Wǒ děi qù gàosu Hēnglì.
It's a woman! The sound is coming from upstairs. I must tell Henry.
- Sir Henry 华生？这么晚了，你怎么还没睡？
Huáshēng? Zhème wǎn le, nǐ zěnme hái méi shuì?
Watson? It's so late. Why aren't you asleep?
- Dr. Watson 亨利，你听，你听到了吗？
Hēnglì, nǐ tīng, nǐ tīngdào le ma?
Henry, listen. Do you hear it?
- Sir Henry 是……是有人在哭！这座房子里，怎么会有人哭？
Shì…… shì yǒurén zài kū! Zhè zuò fángzi lǐ, zěnme huì yǒurén kū?
It... it's someone crying! Who could be crying in this house?
- Dr. Watson 声音从那边来的。走，我们去看看！

It's coming from over there. Come on, let's look!

Crying? No, sir. You misheard. It was the wind.
- Dr. Watson 他在说谎。他的眼睛是红的，好像刚刚哭过。
Tā zài shuōhuǎng. Tā de yǎnjing shì hóng de, hǎoxiàng gānggāng kū guò.
He's lying. His eyes are red, as if he has been crying.
- Sir Henry 好吧。可是我不喜欢这样。这个家里，为什么会有这么多秘密！
Hǎo ba. Kěshì wǒ bù xǐhuan zhèyàng. Zhège jiālǐ, wèishénme huì yǒu zhème duō mìmì!
Fine. But I don't like this. Why does this house have so many secrets!
- Dr. Watson 别急，亨利。我们会一点一点找出来。
Biéjí, Hēnglì. Wǒmen huì yìdiǎn yìdiǎn zhǎo chūlái.
Don't worry, Henry. We'll find them out, bit by bit.
- Sir Henry 华生，昨天夜里，荒野上有一个声音，你听见了吗？

Watson, last night there was a sound on the moor. Did you hear it?
- Dr. Watson 什么声音？

- Sir Henry 又长又低，像狗叫，可又不像。我活了三十年，从来没听过那么大的叫声。
Yòu zhǎng yòu dī, xiàng gǒujiào, kě yòu bú xiàng. Wǒ huó le sānshí nián, cónglái méi tīng guò nàme dà de jiàoshēng.
Long and low, like a dog, yet not like a dog. In thirty years I've never heard a cry so huge.
