The Hound in the Fog
雾中的猎犬
On a foggy night three men wait beside the path while Sir Henry walks alone. Then a great shape with burning eyes leaps out of the mist.

The next night, a thick fog rolled over the moor. Holmes, Watson and Inspector Lestrade hid behind big rocks by the path.
- Inspector Lestrade 福尔摩斯先生，雾这么大，我们连自己的手都看不见，怎么抓人？
Fú'ěrmósī xiānsheng, wù zhème dà, wǒmen lián zìjǐ de shǒu dōu kàn bú jiàn, zěnme zhuā rén?
Mr. Holmes, this fog is so thick we can't even see our own hands. How can we catch anyone?
- Dr. Watson 警长，请你小声一点，好吗？
Jǐngzhǎng, qǐng nǐ xiǎoshēng yìdiǎn, hǎo ma?
Inspector, could you please keep your voice down?
- Inspector Lestrade 我的腿都麻了，鼻子也冷得像冰。
Wǒ de tuǐ dōu má le, bízi yě lěng de xiàng bīng.
My legs have gone numb and my nose is frozen solid.
- Sherlock Holmes 那就让它们安静地冷着。别出声，听，有脚步声！
Nà jiù ràng tāmen ānjìng de lěng zhe. Bié chū shēng, tīng, yǒu jiǎobù shēng!
Then let them freeze quietly. Hush, listen, footsteps!
- Dr. Watson 是亨利。他在斯台普顿家吃完饭，一个人往这边走过来了。
Shì Hēnglì. Tā zài Sītáipǔdùn jiā chī wán fàn, yí gè rén wǎng zhèbiān zǒu guòlái le.
It's Henry. He's finished dinner at the Stapletons' and he's walking this way alone.
- Sir Henry 这雾真大。我为什么要一个人走夜路？福尔摩斯说会保护我，我是不是太勇敢了？
Zhè wù zhēn dà. Wǒ wèishénme yào yí gè rén zǒu yèlù? Fú'ěrmósī shuō huì bǎohù wǒ, wǒ shì bú shì tài yǒnggǎn le?
This fog is terrible. Why am I walking home alone at night? Holmes said he'd protect me. Am I being too brave?
- Inspector Lestrade 他自己也在问这个问题。福尔摩斯先生，我们真的能保护他吗？

He's asking himself the same question. Mr. Holmes, can we really protect him?

Inspector, trust me. He thinks Sir Henry is alone, so he will surely let the hound loose.
- Sherlock Holmes 华生，准备好你的枪。警长，你也是。它马上就要来了。
Huáshēng, zhǔnbèi hǎo nǐ de qiāng. Jǐngzhǎng, nǐ yě shì. Tā mǎshàng jiùyào lái le.
Watson, get your gun ready. You too, Inspector. It's coming any moment now.
- Inspector Lestrade 什么要来了？
Shénme yào lái le?
What's coming?
- Sherlock Holmes 猎犬。就是那只让巴斯克维尔家的人害怕了三百年的猎犬。
Lièquǎn. Jiùshì nà zhī ràng Bāsīkèwéi'ěr jiā de rén hàipà le sānbǎi nián de lièquǎn.
The hound. The very hound that has frightened the Baskervilles for three hundred years.
- Dr. Watson 你看！雾里有一道光，正在向他跑过去！
Nǐ kàn! Wùlǐ yǒu yí dào guāng, zhèngzài xiàng tā pǎo guòqù!
Look! A light in the fog, racing toward him!
- Inspector Lestrade 天哪……那是什么？那么大！它的嘴里在冒火吗？
Tiān nǎ…… nà shì shénme? Nàme dà! Tā de zuǐlǐ zài màohuǒ ma?
Good heavens... What is that? It's enormous! Is there fire in its mouth?
- Sherlock Holmes 它的嘴和眼睛都在发光，像着了火一样。别怕，等它再近一点，再开枪。
Tā de zuǐ hé yǎnjing dōu zài fāguāng, xiàng zhe le huǒ yíyàng. Biépà, děng tā zài jìn yìdiǎn, zài kāiqiāng.
Its mouth and eyes are glowing as if on fire. Don't be afraid. Wait until it's closer, then fire.
- Sir Henry 什么东西？福尔摩斯！华生！快救我！
Shénme dōngxi? Fú'ěrmósī! Huáshēng! Kuài jiù wǒ!
What is that? Holmes! Watson! Save me!
- Sherlock Holmes 现在开枪！打它的头！
Xiànzài kāiqiāng! Dǎ tā de tóu!
Fire now! Aim for its head!
- Dr. Watson 打中了！它倒下去了，再也站不起来了！
Dǎzhòng le! Tā dǎo xiàqù le, zàiyě zhàn bù qǐlái le!
We hit it! It's down, and it won't get up again!
- Inspector Lestrade 它……它死了吗？
Tā…… tā sǐ le ma?
Is... is it dead?
- Sherlock Holmes 死了。华生，快去看看亨利。
Sǐ le. Huáshēng, kuài qù kàn kan Hēnglì.
It's dead. Watson, go and see to Henry.
- Sir Henry 我……我没事。这……就是那只猎犬吗？它真的死了吗？
Wǒ…… wǒ méishì. Zhè…… jiùshì nà zhī lièquǎn ma? Tā zhēnde sǐ le ma?
I... I'm all right. Is... is that the hound? Is it really dead?
- Sherlock Holmes 对，一条真的大狗，不是魔鬼。可是你看它的嘴，有人在上面涂了会发光的东西。
Duì, yì tiáo zhēnde dà gǒu, bú shì móguǐ. Kěshì nǐ kàn tā de zuǐ, yǒurén zài shàngmiàn tú le huì fāguāng de dōngxi.
Yes, a real, big dog, not a demon. But look at its mouth. Someone painted something glowing on it.
- Inspector Lestrade 谁会做这样的事？给一条狗涂上火，这太可怕了！

Who would do such a thing? Making a dog look like fire, it's horrible!

He heard the shots and he'll run. Quick! Let's go to his house and find him!

Tā de jiā jiào Méilǐpítè, lí zhèr bù yuǎn. Dàjiā gēn wǒ lái!
His house is called Merripit House, and it isn't far. Everyone, follow me!
- Inspector Lestrade 门锁着！

The door's locked!
- Sherlock Holmes 撞开它！
Zhuàngkāi tā!
Break it open!
- Dr. Watson 里面一个人也没有……等一下，楼上好像有声音！

Nobody's inside... wait, there seems to be a sound upstairs!

Madam, your wrists are red from the ropes. Who tied you up here?

He... he must have run into the great mire! Only he knows the paths through it!
