The Warning Letter
警告信
Sir Henry arrives with a strange letter and a missing shoe. Someone is following him through London, and Holmes must send Watson to the moor alone.

Welcome, Sir Henry. Dr. Mortimer has told me everything. Please sit, and let me look at the letter first.

Look, the words on the envelope are printed, not written by hand.

The words inside are even stranger. They were all cut out of a newspaper, one by one, and pasted on the page.
- Sherlock Holmes 上面写着：“你想活命，就离开荒野。”只有“荒野”这两个字，是用笔写的。
Shàngmiàn xiě zhe: “nǐ xiǎng huómìng, jiù líkāi huāngyě.” Zhǐyǒu “huāngyě” zhè liǎng gè zì, shì yòngbǐ xiě de.
It says, “If you want to live, leave the moor.” Only the word “moor” is written by hand.
- Sir Henry 谁会做这种事？我才回国两天，连认识的人都没几个！
Shuí huì zuò zhèzhǒng shì? Wǒ cái huíguó liǎng tiān, lián rènshi de rén dōu méi jǐ gè!
Who would do this? I've only been back two days, and I hardly know anyone!
- Sherlock Holmes 这张纸有一点淡淡的花香。华生，我想写这封信的人，可能是一位女士。
Zhè zhāng zhǐ yǒu yìdiǎn dàndàn de huāxiāng. Huáshēng, wǒ xiǎng xiě zhè fēngxìn de rén, kěnéng shì yí wèi nǚshì.
This paper smells faintly of flowers. Watson, I think the writer may be a lady.
- Dr. Watson 你连这个也能闻出来？
Nǐ lián zhège yě néng wén chūlái?
You can smell that too?
- Sherlock Holmes 这只是我的小爱好。爵士，除了这封信，您还遇到过别的怪事吗？

Yes! I left one of my new shoes outside my hotel door last night, and by morning it was gone!
- Dr. Mortimer 谁会偷一只鞋？

Who steals one shoe?
- Sir Henry 就是啊！他们为什么不偷两只？

- Sherlock Holmes 华生！这件事很严重，现在不是开玩笑的时候。

- Dr. Mortimer 亨利爵士，既然这么危险，您还是不要回庄园了吧？

Sir Henry, since it's so dangerous, perhaps you shouldn't go to the hall after all?

I'd love to, but there's another big case in London, and I can't leave right now.

Watson, a cab followed Sir Henry all day. I had the driver found, and he's waiting downstairs.

- The Cab Driver 先生，那位客人一直坐在车里看着爵士。他给我很多钱，还叫我开得慢一点。

Sir, the passenger sat in the cab and watched the gentleman the whole time. He paid me a lot and told me to drive slowly.

What? He used your name!
- Sherlock Holmes 哈哈，这个人真有意思。他不但在跟着我们，还在跟我们开玩笑。
Hāhā, zhège rén zhēn yǒuyìsi. Tā búdàn zài gēnzhe wǒmen, hái zài gēn wǒmen kāi wánxiào.
Ha! What a character. He's following us, and he's joking with us too.
- Dr. Watson 你不担心吗？
Nǐ bù dānxīn ma?
Aren't you worried?
- Sherlock Holmes 担心。这个人又聪明又小心，比我想的更难对付。华生，你一定要去，还要带上手枪。
Dānxīn. Zhège rén yòu cōngming yòu xiǎoxīn, bǐ wǒ xiǎng de gèng nán duìfù. Huáshēng, nǐ yídìng yào qù, háiyào dàishàng shǒuqiāng.
I am. This man is clever and careful, and harder to beat than I thought. Watson, you must go, and take your pistol.
- Dr. Watson 我去了，能做什么？

And after dark, whatever happens, never let Sir Henry walk on the moor alone.
- Dr. Watson 你说得好像……那里真的有一只猎犬。
