Everyone in the Emerald City must wear green glasses, and the great Wizard turns out to have a hard job for them: face the wicked witch of the West.

They reached the gate of the Emerald City. The gate was green.
- Gatekeeper 站在那儿！你们要见巫师吗？
Zhàn zài nàr! Nǐmen yào jiàn wūshī ma?
Stop right there! You want to see the Wizard?
- Dorothy 是的。我们要找他，请你开门。
Shì de. Wǒmen yào zhǎo tā, qǐng nǐ kāi mén.
Yes. We need to see him. Please open the gate.

Take these glasses first. Everyone here looks at the city through green glasses.

Why do we need glasses?
- Gatekeeper 因为这里太亮了。不用眼镜，你的眼睛会疼。
Yīnwèi zhèlǐ tài liàng le. Bú yòng yǎnjing, nǐ de yǎnjing huì téng.
Because it's too bright here. Without glasses, your eyes will hurt.
- Dorothy 哇！用了眼镜，什么都是绿的！
Wa! Yòng le yǎnjìng, shénme dōu shì lǜ de!
Wow! With the glasses on, everything is green!
- Cowardly Lion 我的毛也是绿的！好玩！
Wǒ de máo yě shì lǜ de! Hǎowán!
Even my fur is green! How funny!
- Tin Woodman 房子，路，人，都是绿的！
Fángzi, lù, rén, dōu shì lǜ de!
The houses, the roads, the people, all green!
- Scarecrow 真漂亮！可是我的头里，还是草。
Zhēn piàoliang! Kěshì wǒ de tóu lǐ, háishi cǎo.
It's so pretty! But my head is still full of straw.
- Gatekeeper 巫师一天见一个人。你们谁先去？
Wūshī yì tiān jiàn yí gè rén. Nǐmen shéi xiān qù?
The Wizard sees one person a day. Who goes first?
- Dorothy 你好？有人吗？
Nǐ hǎo? Yǒu rén ma?
Hello? Is anybody here?
- Wizard of Oz 我是奥兹，大巫师！你是谁？
Wǒ shì Àozī, dà wūshī! Nǐ shì shéi?
I am Oz, the great Wizard! Who are you?
- Dorothy 我是多萝西。我想回家，回堪萨斯。
Wǒ shì Duōluóxī. Wǒ xiǎng huíjiā, huí Kānsàsī.
I'm Dorothy. I want to go home, back to Kansas.
- Wizard of Oz 你有银鞋。好，我可以帮你回家。
Nǐ yǒu yínxié. Hǎo, wǒ kěyǐ bāng nǐ huíjiā.
You have silver shoes. Good, I can help you get home.
- Dorothy 太好了！你要我做什么？
Tài hǎo le! Nǐ yào wǒ zuò shénme?
Wonderful! What do you want me to do?
- Wizard of Oz 西边有一个坏女巫。你去找她。
Xībiān yǒu yí gè huài nǚwū. Nǐ qù zhǎo tā.
There is a wicked witch in the West. Go and find her.
- Dorothy 坏女巫？
Huài nǚwū?
A wicked witch?
- Wizard of Oz 她只有一只眼睛。可是，她能看得很远。
Tā zhǐyǒu yì zhī yǎnjing. Kěshì, tā néng kàn de hěn yuǎn.
She has only one eye. But that eye can see very far.
- Dorothy 可是我只是一个小女孩，我怎么去？
Kěshì wǒ zhǐ shì yí gè xiǎo nǚhái, wǒ zěnme qù?
But I'm only a little girl. How can I go?
- Wizard of Oz 不去，你就回不了家！去吧！
Bú qù, nǐ jiù huí bù liǎo jiā! Qù ba!
If you don't go, you can't go home! Go!
- Scarecrow 多萝西！我看见的，是一位漂亮的小姐！
Duōluóxī! Wǒ kànjiàn de, shì yí wèi piàoliang de xiǎojie!
Dorothy! What I saw was a beautiful lady!
- Tin Woodman 我看见的，是一只大动物！
Wǒ kànjiàn de, shì yì zhī dà dòngwù!
What I saw was a huge animal!
- Cowardly Lion 我看见的是火！很大的火！
Wǒ kànjiàn de shì huǒ! Hěn dà de huǒ!
What I saw was fire! A huge fire!
- Dorothy 他有很多样子！我看见的是一个大绿头。
Tā yǒu hěn duō yàngzi! Wǒ kànjiàn de shì yí gè dà lǜ tóu.
He has so many shapes! I saw a big green head.
- Cowardly Lion 可是西边……我不想去！
Kěshì xībiān… wǒ bù xiǎng qù!
But the West... I don't want to go!
- Dorothy 我们一起去。她只有一只眼睛，可是我们有四个朋友！
Wǒmen yìqǐ qù. Tā zhǐyǒu yì zhī yǎnjing, kěshì wǒmen yǒu sì gè péngyou!
We'll go together. She has only one eye, but we have four friends!
