Great King, it's terrible! There are heavenly soldiers in the sky and heavenly soldiers at the foot of the mountain!
- Sun Wukong 怕什么？小的们，看老孙的！
Pà shénme? Xiǎo de men, kàn Lǎo Sūn de!
What's there to be scared of? Leave it to Old Sun, little ones!

The heavenly soldiers fought for days, but they couldn't beat the Great Sage. So the Jade Emperor sent for Erlang Shen.
- Erlang Shen 猴子，别跑！我是二郎神，玉帝叫我来抓你！
Hóuzi, bié pǎo! Wǒ shì Èrláng Shén, Yùdì jiào wǒ lái zhuā nǐ!
Stop right there, monkey! I am Erlang Shen, and the Jade Emperor has sent me to capture you!
- Sun Wukong 二郎神？你的头上怎么有三只眼睛？
Èrláng Shén? Nǐ de tóu shàng zěnme yǒu sān zhī yǎnjing?
Erlang Shen? How come you've got three eyes on your head?
- Erlang Shen 我有三只眼睛，你到哪儿去，我都能看到你！
Wǒ yǒu sān zhī yǎnjing, nǐ dào nǎr qù, wǒ dōu néng kàndào nǐ!
I have three eyes. Wherever you go, I can see you!
- Sun Wukong 好！看老孙的金箍棒！
Hǎo! Kàn Lǎo Sūn de jīn gū bàng!
All right! Have a taste of Old Sun's golden staff!
- Narrator 两个人在云上打来打去，谁也打不过谁。
Liǎng gè rén zài yún shàng dǎ lái dǎ qù, shéi yě dǎ bú guò shéi.
Back and forth they fought across the clouds, and neither could beat the other.
- Sun Wukong 这个二郎神，本领跟老孙一样大……老孙变小鸟，飞走吧！
Zhège Èrláng Shén, běnlǐng gēn Lǎo Sūn yíyàng dà… Lǎo Sūn biàn xiǎo niǎo, fēi zǒu ba!
This Erlang Shen is every bit as strong as Old Sun… I'll turn into a little bird and fly away!
- Erlang Shen 小鸟？那我就变大鸟来抓你！
Xiǎo niǎo? Nà wǒ jiù biàn dà niǎo lái zhuā nǐ!
A little bird? Then I'll turn into a bigger bird and catch you!
- Sun Wukong 那老孙就变一条鱼，到水里去！
Nà Lǎo Sūn jiù biàn yì tiáo yú, dào shuǐ lǐ qù!
Then Old Sun will turn into a fish and hide in the water!
- Erlang Shen 鱼？我就变吃鱼的鸟，在水上等你！
Yú? Wǒ jiù biàn chī yú de niǎo, zài shuǐ shàng děng nǐ!
A fish? Then I'll become a fish-eating bird and wait for you above the water!
- Sun Wukong 老孙再变一座小庙！嘴是门，眼睛是窗户……尾巴呢？放在后面，做旗杆吧！
Lǎo Sūn zài biàn yí zuò xiǎo miào! Zuǐ shì mén, yǎnjing shì chuānghu… wěiba ne? Fàng zài hòumiàn, zuò qígān ba!
Now Old Sun will turn into a little temple! My mouth is the door, my eyes are the windows… and my tail? I'll stick it out the back as a flagpole!
- Erlang Shen 哪有庙的后面有旗杆的？这是猴子的尾巴！
Nǎ yǒu miào de hòumiàn yǒu qígān de? Zhè shì hóuzi de wěiba!
Whoever saw a temple with a flagpole out the back? That's a monkey's tail!
- Erlang Shen 我先打你的窗户，再打你的门！
Wǒ xiān dǎ nǐ de chuānghu, zài dǎ nǐ de mén!
First I'll smash your windows, and then your door!
- Sun Wukong 不好！他要打我的眼睛和嘴！快跑！
Bù hǎo! Tā yào dǎ wǒ de yǎnjing hé zuǐ! Kuài pǎo!
Uh-oh! He's going to smash my eyes and my mouth! Run!
- Laozi, the Supreme Old Lord 二郎，我来帮你！
Èrláng, wǒ lái bāng nǐ!
Erlang, let me help you!
- Narrator 老君的圈从天上飞下来，打在大圣的头上。
Lǎojūn de quān cóng tiānshàng fēi xiàlái, dǎ zài Dàshèng de tóu shàng.
Laozi's ring came flying down out of the sky and struck the Great Sage on the head.
- Erlang Shen 好狗，快上！
Hǎo gǒu, kuài shàng!
Good dog, go get him!
- Sun Wukong 啊！你们三个打我一个，不算！不算！
A! Nǐmen sān gè dǎ wǒ yí gè, bú suàn! Bú suàn!
Ow! Three of you against one of me? That doesn't count! That doesn't count!
- Erlang Shen 猴子，这一次，你跑不了了！
Hóuzi, zhè yí cì, nǐ pǎo bù liǎo le!
This time, monkey, you're not getting away!
- Sun Wukong 抓住老孙，有什么用？老孙吃了很多桃子和金丹，你们能把我怎么样？
Zhuā zhù Lǎo Sūn, yǒu shénme yòng? Lǎo Sūn chī le hěn duō táozi hé jīndān, nǐmen néng bǎ wǒ zěnmeyàng?
What good is catching Old Sun? Old Sun has eaten piles of peaches and golden pills. What can you possibly do to me?
