The Stolen Pills
老君的金丹
Uninvited, Wukong gets to the Peach Banquet before any of the guests. By the end of the night, he has done something even worse than eating their dinner.

- Narrator 大圣来到了蟠桃会。桌子上放满了好菜好酒，客人还一个也没有来。
Dàshèng láidào le Pántáo Huì. Zhuōzi shang fàng mǎn le hǎo cài hǎo jiǔ, kèrén hái yí gè yě méiyǒu lái.
The Great Sage arrived at the Peach Banquet. The tables were piled high with fine food and wine, but not a single guest had come yet.
- Sun Wukong 这么多好吃的！做饭的人还在……老孙让他们睡一会儿吧。
Zhème duō hǎochī de! Zuò fàn de rén hái zài… Lǎo Sūn ràng tāmen shuì yíhuìr ba.
So much good food! The cooks are still here, though… Old Sun will send them off to sleep for a while.
- Sun Wukong 睡吧，睡吧……好，都睡着了！
Shuì ba, shuì ba… Hǎo, dōu shuìzháo le!
Sleep now, sleep… There! They're all asleep!

Hǎo jiǔ! Hǎo cài! Tāmen bù qǐng Lǎo Sūn, Lǎo Sūn jiù xiān chī le!
Fine wine! Fine food! They didn't invite Old Sun, so Old Sun eats first!
- Sun Wukong 喝多了……头好重……老孙的家在哪儿？
Hē duō le… tóu hǎo zhòng… Lǎo Sūn de jiā zài nǎr?
Had too much… my head's so heavy… Where does Old Sun live again?
- Narrator 大圣走错了路，走进了太上老君的家。老君不在家。
Dàshèng zǒu cuò le lù, zǒu jìn le Tàishàng Lǎojūn de jiā. Lǎojūn bú zài jiā.
The Great Sage took a wrong turn and wandered into the home of Laozi, the Supreme Old Lord. Laozi was out.
- Sun Wukong 这是谁的家？有人吗？……这里怎么有这么多葫芦？
Zhè shì shéi de jiā? Yǒu rén ma?… Zhèlǐ zěnme yǒu zhème duō húlu?
Whose house is this? Anybody home?… Why are there so many gourds in here?
- Sun Wukong 好香啊！葫芦里都是金丹！这是老君的金丹！
Hǎo xiāng a! Húlu lǐ dōu shì jīndān! Zhè shì Lǎojūn de jīndān!
What a smell! These gourds are full of golden pills! These are Laozi's golden pills!
- Sun Wukong 听说吃了老君的金丹，就能长生不老！
Tīngshuō chī le Lǎojūn de jīndān, jiù néng chángshēng bù lǎo!
They say whoever eats Laozi's golden pills will live forever!
- Sun Wukong 老孙吃一颗……再吃一颗……好吃，好吃！
Lǎo Sūn chī yì kē… zài chī yì kē… hǎochī, hǎochī!
Old Sun will try one… and another one… Delicious, delicious!
- Narrator 大圣像吃豆子一样，把葫芦里的金丹全吃完了。
Dàshèng xiàng chī dòuzi yíyàng, bǎ húlu lǐ de jīndān quán chī wán le.
Gobbling them down like beans, the Great Sage ate every last pill in the gourds.
- Sun Wukong 啊！全吃完了！老孙的酒也醒了……
A! Quán chī wán le! Lǎo Sūn de jiǔ yě xǐng le…
Oh no! I ate them all! And now Old Sun is stone-cold sober…
- Sun Wukong 吃了蟠桃会的菜，又吃了老君的金丹……玉帝知道了，一定会抓我！
Chī le Pántáo Huì de cài, yòu chī le Lǎojūn de jīndān… Yùdì zhīdào le, yídìng huì zhuā wǒ!
I ate the banquet, and now Laozi's golden pills too… When the Jade Emperor finds out, he'll have me arrested for sure!
- Sun Wukong 快走！回花果山去！
Kuài zǒu! Huí Huāguǒ Shān qù!
Time to go! Back to Flower Fruit Mountain!
- Narrator 大圣变得谁也看不见，跳上筋斗云，从西天门飞回了花果山。
Dàshèng biàn de shéi yě kàn bú jiàn, tiào shàng jīndǒuyún, cóng Xītiān Mén fēi huí le Huāguǒ Shān.
Making himself invisible, the Great Sage leapt onto his somersault cloud and flew out through the Western Gate of Heaven, all the way home to Flower Fruit Mountain.
- Little Monkey 大王回来了！大王，天上好玩儿吗？
Dàwáng huílái le! Dàwáng, tiānshàng hǎowánr ma?
The Great King is back! Great King, is heaven fun?
- Sun Wukong 好玩儿……可是这一次，老孙的麻烦大了！
Hǎowánr… kěshì zhè yí cì, Lǎo Sūn de máfan dà le!
Fun… but this time, Old Sun is in big trouble!
- Laozi, the Supreme Old Lord 我的金丹呢？葫芦都空了！我的金丹一颗也没有了！
Wǒ de jīndān ne? Húlu dōu kōng le! Wǒ de jīndān yì kē yě méiyǒu le!
Where are my golden pills? The gourds are empty! There isn't a single pill left!
- The Jade Emperor 又是那只猴子！他吃了桃子，吃了蟠桃会，又偷了老君的金丹！
Yòu shì nà zhī hóuzi! Tā chī le táozi, chī le Pántáo Huì, yòu tōu le Lǎojūn de jīndān!
That monkey again! He ate the peaches, he ate the banquet, and now he's stolen Laozi's golden pills!
- The Jade Emperor 派十万天兵，去花果山抓他！
Pài shíwàn tiānbīng, qù Huāguǒ Shān zhuā tā!
Send a hundred thousand heavenly soldiers to Flower Fruit Mountain! Bring him to me!
