Chinese Grammar Workbooks
By Mei Lin
Each grammar workbook here takes one structure and stays with it until it feels natural. You see the pattern, practise it in short exercises, then use it in sentences you would actually say.
The beginner books cover word order, 了, measure words, the three de words and the small particles that make you sound natural. Further on come comparisons with 比, 把 sentences, 被 and the passive, 过 and 着, and result and direction complements. If one structure keeps tripping you up, start with that book, and read every example aloud: grammar sticks when you say it.
