US Chinese Exams: NY Checkpoint, Credit by Exam, BYU FLATS, Praxis and DLPT
By Mei Lin
Beyond AP® and the proficiency tests, several US exams test Chinese for one purpose: New York's Checkpoint A and B in school, credit by exam in Texas, BYU's FLATS for college credit, Praxis 5665 and CSET for teacher licensing, and the DLPT5 for government linguists.
Each book follows its own test's format and level, from about HSK 1 for Texas Chinese I to about HSK 5 to 6 for Praxis. By the end you have practised that test's tasks, with answers and free audio.
